BCBS Pittsburgh

I'm interested as well.

 

From what I've seen/heard it has been some places, is at some places, and is coming some places. But everyone(shops and buyers both) are staying mum because of the low volumes in the area...buyers want theirs and shops want to help theirs.

Regular BCBS only.

I only know of 3 cases in the Pittsburgh area so far, and two hit last week and one next week.

 

Yeah, I've been keeping my ear to the ground but really have no clue what's going on with this stuff. Basically it's like it was stated above: Some people got it, some are getting it, and no one knows who and where and when or how much. This is the shitty side to the distribution of this stuff; since there's no real uniformity in the release schedules or anything on paper to go by, you are just left to lean on random luck. I missed getting a 4 pack of KBS at GE Wexford by ten minutes because I never even assumed that place would get it since it's so much smaller than most of the stores. But there was an empty case on the floor when I stopped by, which I only had done on a lark. Had I not had an extra 15 minutes to kill before work I would never have know they got it in the first place. Beer can be dumb. Heh.

 

I'll be heading home for the holidays at the end of the week. BCBS usually sits on the shelf for a few weeks where I'm from, so if I can get any extras and bring it back to pittsburgh I'll let yinz know.

 

GE s hills got their case friday, was supposed to sell it saturday morning limit 1 bottle. not sure if that happened. GE wexford got theirs friday as well. sold by the 4 pack and gone very quickly. only other case that i know of is GE shaler supposedly getting a case on tuesday. 1 bottle limit. its not much, but its nice to finally see this stuff in the area. maybe next year well get some variants.

 

Come to FL. Regular BCBS and Barleywine still sitting on shelves everywhere.

 

Same with NY. Luckily I wind up heading North often and the regular BCBS is available for awhile after the releases. Pittsburgh releases suck. Anymore you need to be lucky and stumble upon something being put out iwhen it shouldn't or else you need to know someone. Some online retailers will ship to PA, so that is another option for your BCBS fix.

 

I was in NYC in May and one of the whole foods had what must have been 10 cases, I couldn't believe it.

 

I mean, on the off chance someone sees a case I know I'm down to split some of the cost if others are. I just want to try the stuff one time before I decide if it's worth the hassle each year (given my experience with beer so far, probably not but who knows). I don't really get to stop by many distributors in the city but I'll do some looking when I can.

 

I would split a case with you. I will try to find some as well.

Case hit Cranberry GE today. I know two 4 packs are gone for sure, no clue after that. I got lucky enough to have a coworker go get one for me since I was in the wind today.

 

Came and went at GE-Shadyside - $8.95 a bottle, single bottle limit.

 

Heads up for anyone looking to score a case, Duffy's in the South Hills just got a case of it in 15 minutes ago.

 

That's a good way to cause some traffic violations!
