They're not putting it out until the sale's over.

That's a problem. Did you tell someone about it?

I figured they would restock with new stuff after the sale. They just made a snarky comment about it on FB related to BA.
I did not tell someone about it. Last time I did, they just said thanks and it was there the next time. I am very aware of dates when I shop there, which I do frequently.

Well if you feel like bending over - the house is selling some:

"Okay, here's the deal: we have bottles of Goose Island Bourbon County Brand Stout, Bourbon County Brand Coffee Stout, & Bourbon County Brand Barleywine. We will be selling them in packs of 3, each with a glass included, on Saturday when we tap the Bourbon County Brand Stout. Not every 3-pack will include all three different varieties ( the coffee one is in short supply), but some configuration of the three. There are roughly 15 3-pack-plus-glass packages, & they will be priced at $40 each. "How might I get one?", you ask. With each Goose Island draft you order, starting when we tap the Ten Hills Pale Ale on Thursday, the 23rd (yes, it's now the 23rd) through Saturday at 3pm, you will be given a ticket. If we draw your ticket(s) among the 15 we draw on Saturday, you will have the opportunity to purchase one of these 3-packs-plus-glass. Any questions?"

I think anyone with bottles already should show up there and just drink them and toast a giant "$^% you" to the owners.

I'd love to support them but the games they play are just nuts.

FYI, I have some of the BW if anyone ends up wanting to swap a Coffee for one in person (unlikely I know).

Obviously, there's way more demand than supply for Bourbon County stuff in SWPA, & the house is addressing it by drawing attention to a big release & leveling the playing field with a lottery. I take it you guys see this approach as problematic. What do you think would be a better way to handle it? Is it the price you're upset about? I'm not being facetious here, I'm legitimately curious what people's suggestions are.

    I would pay $40 for 3 and a glass. Hell, I'd probably pay $40 just for a glass.

No, they are engaging in profiteering on both the front end (drink a lot of this mediocre GI beer we have & maybe you will get lucky) and back end (massive but typical HO1K markup on bottles). Also, 45 mixed bottles of BC whatever is not a big release. Well, maybe in the crappy Pittsburgh distribution network it is, so I'll give you a pass on that one...

I think there is a simple solution to all this. if you disagree with the method House is using to sell these, then do not take part and spend your money elsewhere. If you think it is a good idea, then take part. I would rather see the bottles simply put out and it be first come first serve, but House chose to do things differently and that is their decision. I doubt i'd have a chance at these beers no matter what way they were sold with them being so limited, so I really don't care. I think the bigger issue is the lousy distribution network of the Pittsburgh area, which was mentioned in the post before mine

I meant big in terms of garnering a lot of attention, which it has, I think it's safe to say.

Yeah the prices are high for three bottles and a glass, but what I don't like is that you're not even guaranteed one coffee for the $40 even if you are lucky enough to "win" the lottery. I would be quite pissed if I received 2 regular and a barleywine for example.

Why not make an open lotto? Why do I have to drink mediocre beer for a chance to buy a mystery 3 pack of beer. I agree there is a demand but do like crooked stave and do a lotto that is opened to the public without purchasing anything.

Nate, are the glasses the new style? Ill reward handsomely if anyone gets one and doesn't want it.

The glasses are Goose Island tulips, not specifically Bourbon County.

I'm not too interested in buying the 3-packs, but I wish I could make it for a glass. I've yet have BCBS on draft.
