So I was finally lucky enough to trade in to some BCBS and can't wait to try it for the first time, and share with some friends this weekend. Here's the thing though. As I was gathering beers to be shared I noticed that one of the '14 bottles has a gold writing on a black cap, while the other is plain. Both are labeled 2014, but one is bottled in August and the other in September. And, the ABV is a bit different. 13.8% vs 14.4%. So the question is; is there a significant difference in taste between these two, and if so, which one should I share? Also, is one version particularly more rare or desirable? Thanks everyone!

Thanks. Not that this was something you said, but a person was wrong on the thread, 13.8% doesn't help Ohio since we are 12% Boo 12% Maybe 3rd year of petition will be the charm...though I doubt it.

They taste pretty much exactly the same, but some claim they can taste a difference. I don't think one is significantly more rare, I think depending on where you live you may have been more likely to receive one or the other through distribution. All the cases I found were 13.8 for example.

I don't think it matters which you share really.
