Fellas, Not trying to chase trucks, but looking to scoop up a few bottles of reg. Will Bourbon County be readily available in VA beach Black Friday? If so, what's the best location to score?
Bottlecraft has posted about a tap takeover and sounds like they’ll have bottles with variants. Their draft prices are a little pricey but it’s a nice shop. Total Wine is across the street I think so might as well hit up both if you’re in the area
Have not seen them post about it but Grape & Gourmet would be your best bet. They are the best shop in the area. But get there early. I think they sold out of both regular and bw in less than 10 minutes last year. Not bottles but if you may be in town tomorrow Grain in Norfolk is offering a 5 year vertical (13-17) flight starting at 3pm.
You might get lucky with Whole Foods in VB. I'm not sure if they'll even have any or how much, but I walked in there two days or so after Bourbon GBS had sold out most everywhere else and grabbed a bottle of that. Other than that, show up before opening at one of the locations above. If you or anyone you know is military, you could check out the exchanges as well. A couple years back the Coast Guard exchange had a few cases sitting out a week or two after Black Friday.
And FWIW I'm pretty sure the past few years there's been a couple drops of BCBS. Usually a smaller one for Black Friday and then a week or so later comes a restock with more cases than BF. At least the shops near me in Central Va have done this. Probably does not help if you are just in Va Beach for the holiday but for thinking if you miss out and looking for more that may come near where you are.
Yep, I was in Whole Foods on Sunday and they had a sign that said they "coming soon bcbs." Other than that, as stated above G&G, bottlecraft, the Total Wine on laskin, all should have regular.
Total Wine gets a good amount of BCBS . They open at 9 , expect a small line . Maybe less than 20 people . I'll probably go to WF first . They usually have it early but not last year . Anyhow , it's a good place for breakfast . Bottlecraft is worth checking out , they have a real nice selection . Some beers on tap are kind of pricy but they get beers other places don't like Aslin , JWB , Magnify and Civil Society . And you can get 4 and 8 oz pours . They have a lot of Prairie beers too , they started showing up here a few months ago .
Thanks much, guys. Appreciate the guidance! I'm back in the District Saturday afternoon, but didnt want to take chances assuming it would still be around. BCBS is my breastmilk.
Just got back from Total Wine at Hilltop . They had the regular and Barleywine , 1 pp . Also found BCBS at Kroger's behind whole foods . 3pp . WF is doing a tap takeover on Sat. and will sell their bottles then .
