A small amount of BCBS Vanilla just hit my city. I don't want to say what I paid, but I feel like I may have spent too much. I will drink it, not trade it or sell it, but what is the regular retail price? I feel bent over but I'm not sure if there was any lube involved. Regardless... I got some BCBS Vanilla!
The bottle I got was $37.50 in PA, although I bought it alongside a BCBCS for $11 and they cost me $40.XX out the door due to some "mix six" discount, so I'd say it actually cost me around $32-33. I know others got it for under $20, so I definitely got bent over a bit on it, but that's not to say I wouldn't snap it up again at that price given the chance.
Anywhere between $19.99-$30 around here. Also, trade it. Don't drink it. It has so much trade value right now and, to be honest, I don't think it's as good as many of the other Bourbon County Brand offerings.
Well I think that we may have been bent over the same barrel. But I am glad to have some. I was thinking of doing a side-by-side with some Back Yard. What is that consenince? Drink it, or Trade it?
FreeKansas, have you tried it yet ? I had it in Chicago on Black Friday on tap and 4 of us could not finish one glass.we all though that it tasted like a bunch of vanilla extract. I was only able to get one bottle and plan on leaving it in the cellar for a long time.
I have heard this from a few people, but the bottle I opened was very very mellow. I actually wish there would have been more. I'm guessing a lot of variation, kind of like '13 prop
I had it on draft a couple weeks ago, freeing me from the liability of keeping my bottle so I could try it, so I traded mine. The vanilla was overly strong and almost extract-like, as others have stated. I feel like it could turn into an excellent brew with time, perhaps ~2 years would be a good time to check in on it. Others are really enjoying it now, so I'd say that if you've not had it yet, try it, but probably do it with some friends so that you aren't fighting through an entire bomber of something you don't really enjoy. As a saving grace, blending it ~50:50 with BCBCS produced a beer where the consensus was that it was quite good, although I think I still preferred straight BCBCS.
I paid $25 for each on mine. The night before there was a bar selling bottles for $45. People actually bought them...
I got a vanilla and a 4pk of coffee for just under $40 but I heard the distributor here f'd up the pricing.
