i have a bunch of regular BCBS from 2012. Is there any greater trade desirability for that over the '13 and '14 that I have or are they interchangeable?
Not much, maybe something like 3:4 if even that. There may be a few people looking for one to help with a vertical but there aren't many willing to give up much more for a '12 then they would a '14. Edit: If you have a lot, you may be able to land a slightly "bigger " bottle for quantity of '12 than '14.
Thanks, I mostly drink them and give them as extras but I was just wondering since the 12's are getting a little age on them. I like the 12 and 13 better than the 14
Each vintage could potentially be more desirable to someone than another. Some folks like their BCBS fresh. Some prefer it with a year or more on it. Also, as mentioned, there are always people trying to complete verticals.
I'd say no. If you get into 2008/2009 etc I think they would definitely trade higher, especially 2008.
How high do you think 2008 is trading right now? I'm guessing VR is trading around 45-50 and 08 is trading around 25, what that sound about right?
I wouldn't be shocked if the 2008 went 4:1 ratio. I would be surprised if it was trading at all, I would assume they would just be for drinking. I've had 4 2008, it would never have occurred to me to trade one, but I did send one on to a trading friend in Ny. I think the last 2008 was superb, perhaps the 2009 was the best vintage I've had.
I have tried to pick up back vintages of BCBS before and got crickets on the trade forums. 2012 seems to still be something people will trade you but anything older people want a lot to part with. I would say your 2012 is worth a solid + on any trade - most people who would want it are looking to fill out a vertical
