I'm just trying to get some estimates of what is will go for. I'm not sure if I'm going to try to track it down, or if I'll just trade for it and stay home on black Friday. Any thoughts? To make it more concrete, I'm looking for 2-3 bottles and would be likely offering up the following- anyone want to hazard what it'll cost me from the below?

    Lawsons Maple Barrel Fayston
Lawson's Sticky (Maple Bourbon aged Maple Nipple)
HF Saisons (Florence, Arthur, possibly Vera Mae)
HF BA Everett (if need be, I'd really rather not)

My advice is to wait til January.
It will taste the same as it does now and you'll have to give up much less.
If you insist on getting it on Black Friday Prepare to give up the farm.

Thanks, and yeah I'm not over eager to get it quickly or anything. Any idea what backyard went for around black Friday versus later?

Backyard was going for what prop goes for now and prop was going for crazy stuff. Now backyard can be had $4$ with limited shelf and brewery only beers while prop is still trading pretty high. (From what I've noticed)

As long as Vanilla tastes good it will trade higher than Backyard because some people just don't like fruited stouts. Your list should be able to pull a couple at least, a BA Lawsons Stout would probably do it, and adding a HF Saison would land one right around release. Your beers are far less accessible . I'd recommend waiting as with most releases, but with all the excitement about Vanilla, and the beer's aging potential, it might be harder to get if you wait too long.

Florence & Arthur, aka HF saisons that you could buy 24 of, aren't going to land BCBVS unless you find someone who wants a lot of them. Vera Mae+? Maybe. BA Everett? Probably. Not sure about the Lawson's.

I was in a trade hiatus when Vanilla last came out, but with the exception of Backyard, the BCBS bomber series trades very high. I don't ever remember Backyard trading for more than $25ish of decent beer. Everything else? Pretty high.

I dont think Prop and Backyard are trading that much differently than they were a year ago . bc they are both one offs they gradually become harder to get but I don't think either has changed by much.

They're both one offs until GI decides to make them again  - i.e. BCBVS

Ha yeah but even still... The b1 continues to be sought after to the same degree. Every four years is... A lot different than an annual

As someone who traded 2 Props away in the past 4-6 weeks, I can tell you that Prop traded quite a bit higher than before for the very reason supply is much less now. Observing this and other beer trading sites, that's for sure is the case given offers people have been putting up. I'm down to my last and it will take A LOT to get me to let go of that one.

Backyard, too, has gone up although it seems more of that are around.

I think the new one is Vanilla Rye, which is supposedly different. It will get its own profile on BA for sure.

Oh I know, it will certainly be a different beer, they're using different vanilla beans this time too... but pretty damn close

Edit: Official write up on the GI website makes the following references "First brewed in 2010", "extremely proud to bring it back"... I'm betting it's pretty close to the original...

Wouldn't be surprised if Backyard traded artificially high early on since it seems to not have hit many markets until early 2014, leaving people unsure whether they'd be able to get it at all or not.

I think the trade value of Vanilla will be dependent on availability come release day. I've heard it should "be in good supply" then I've heard a lot of markets won't be getting any Vanilla (or other variants for that matter) Both of these statements came from people who should know what they are talking about so I guess we will have to just wait and see

And both of these statements can certainly be true...there may be a lot of it, but they may be sending it to less markets, so that those markets that get it (COME ON DENVER!) get more, while others get shut out.

Anyone care to estimate what a reasonable ask would be in terms of this years BCBS variants for an Art? Never have any idea whats fair for quantity vs. rarity trades...

Assuming you're referring to vanilla rye and prop pt. 2 correct? If so, I'd say 1 Prop + 2 Vanilla is fair, perhaps you throw something in for $4$.

I know you're thinking [pure assumption here] 2 Prop. But you gotta re,ember the desirability (& priability) factor. The WHOLE country is gonna be making some crazy offers come the end of the month. Best way to do it IMO is establish good relations...

Actually I don't have any interest in prop, I was thinking more like vanilla and some amount of regular

Agh I see, because GI doesn't distribute to RI- in that case man you could probably pick your amount, at minimum $60. I'm guessing at least two Vanilla (~$20/bottle) and a 4 pack of BCBS (~$20/4pack).

Anyone think it is unreasonable to ask for a Prop and a BCBVS for an Aaron +? The + would be maybe something barrel aged from Jackie O's.

On the contrary, GI sits in RI. BCBS and barleywine were available until at least May this year.
