I was at whole foods today and ran across a case of bourbon county barley wine out already. 2014 batch and they're selling singles at $6.99 each. I threw six in their mixed 6er holder and got 10% off. Not a bad find for a pre-black Friday surprise. Still at least 15 out on their display if you are in the area.
Snagged one myself, also got a 4-pack of backwoods bastard at the same location. Surprised to see such limited quantity speciality releases, but this location does have a good selection in general.
Can you tell me what the ABV says? BCBBW was approved for OH, but obviously won't make it here if it is the same ABV as last year. I know that the Bourbon County beers sometimes range a few tenths of an ABV, and I'd love if this was somehow under 12% this year.
Thank you so much for the heads up. I picked up 4 and they have 15 left. The lable states that BCWS is a malt bev aged in bourbon barrels w/ an abv of 12.3%.
It's comical....i mean i bought several bottles there today. they said that they were told they had to sell "some of it" on Black Friday. so they have some held back for that date...but deliberately decided to put some of their stash out today. They also did not get coffee or vanilla.
I accidentally had three cases of regular BCBS show up on Friday but I sent it back. Someone could get into a lot of trouble...
I had a buddy stop by Whole Foods around 3 and all have been sold. They expect to have the normal stout on black friday.
So I'm guessing it was the one on 86th street. I should've just stopped by instead of hoping someone would've responded....
Guarantee it was the one on 86th.. they had 2013 BCBS and BCBW sitting on the shelves through this summer. Stuff like that (and Backwoods Bastard) sit around there forever.
