I only bought one when it came out in Chicago. Should have gotten 2 but they were $50. Long story short this was the beer I celebrated with when I found out I beat cancer. Now I am approaching my 1 year cancer free anniversary and am wondering what it takes to land one in a trade. I don't trade much and some of the past threads look crazy to me. Whales, whales, and more whales. I have a bunch of DL, KBS, and some other Midwest medium rarities. Do I even have a chance or should I just crack open a DL? An honest opinion would be great. No biggie if I'm out of my league. It's only beer right? Thanks
What other midwest medium rares do u have? Do you know any other ba's in your area that would pool together to trade for one with you?
I have some randoms. 2 years of BCS coffee and vanilla. Some older NG brews. Just moved from Chicago to the Bay Area, so my cellar is not what it once was. Couldn't bring it all with me. How did Rare become such a crazy traded beer? It was on the shelf in Chicago for a few months if you knew where to look.
The beers you have to offer "may" work but you'll probably have to offer a pretty big package deal for a single bottle
IMO, the vanilla is a good start. usually folks with Rare have Vanilla already, but they seem to both be trading crazy so if you had more than one you would be getting closer i imagine.
Ya. in the end it doesn't seem worth it to offer a ton for one beer. This seems like a good example of why I don't trade much. I see a big correlation between whales and guys who drive huge lifted pickup trucks.
It was also a $50 beer, too. I would think that BCBS Vanilla + DL is a very good start, though. Congratulations on your anniversary!
Oh ya for sure it was not a cheap beer. The only Vanilla I have left are from 2010. This past year was a mess and only got one.
I must be thinking of this past years coffee release then. Still have the Vanilla though. It's tasting very good. Had one a month ago.
