I couldn't put my finger on the exact date but the homemade chips combod with the pulled chicken, guac, thick cheese and light aoili made it my top nachos in the country. I thought it was maybe last year but I could have sworn they tried a few different types of chips that weren't nearly as bad as what they use today.

They need to go back. I would pay 20-30% more in a heartbeat. I'm rather pissed at this decision.

I know this is gonna sound stupid, but I never get over to Beachwood.

Is Mocha Machine bottled? How often? Does it hit distro?

BA says it's a year round brew...

mocha machine is bottled occasionally, probably like 2 or 3 times a year. it has hit limited distro in the past but it gets bought up pretty quickly

and it's gone. It must have been a small batch because I remember the previous batch was on tap for like a month. Next up in terms of imperial stouts which are bottled is System of a Stout, which is my favorite. Mmm

Oh man, I'm going to go so hard on System. It really is a beast. I hope that it's not like Tovarish, in that it sold out within hours.

So....I feel like I'm hoping for nothing short of a miracle here...but I'm assuming Citraholic bottles will be gone by the time I can get down there next week? I'm actually assuming they won't last thru tomorrow.

I think both BW locations will sell out by tomorrow's end. Local shops should be getting bottles starting tomorrow. Yu might want to check with your local that carry's BW bottles. I'll be at the source at 1130 sharp to pick up 3 or 4 bottles.

I live up here in Northern California so there's no hope of any local shops getting any up here. I'm in Orange County every other month or so though but never during the week of or the day of a Beachwood release. Still really looking forward to my Beachwood trip next week though.

Tasted fantastic as usual, tho, for whatever reason I liked this even better than previous ones.

Batch is tasting great. I didn't get any bottles because I know I'll just be drinking it on draft for the next couple of weeks. Might pick up a growler though

Agreed, picked up a couple on my way home yesterday, great batch, seems more complex and balanced instead of an in your face citrus assault.

    Cheers,

So is all the food going downhill or just the nachos? I went several times last summer when I was visiting LA and a big part of that was because the food was fantastic.

The nachos. But they are using cheaper thinner chips. Not the same at all. The rest of the menus is still pretty much spot on. Hit or miss. More hit than miss. All depends on your taste buds.
On another note, I'll be taking a bottle of Citraholic with me to Pomona for some pre gig suds. Along with a few more gems. And also be checking out the Rookery Alehouse for some Lupulin River and grub.

Citraholic hit everywhere Beachwood beers are distributed today. Got 2 at vendome Pasadena for 8.99. There was only a couple left though. They also had modern times cacao and coconut for 7.49.

Nachos went from a 9.5/10 to 3/10 due to the worst chips ever put in Nachos. I feel the fried pickles may have changed but they are still good. The burger has also been more miss than hit. As someone who frequents both locations, I feel Seal Beach has more consistent food.
