Beachwood BBQ Beer Releases Thread

@dcgunman is right that we're "pretty hush hush" right now, but that's only because we really don't know. Wild and sour beers are pretty unpredictable, especially in a new environment.

And you're right, we have been brewing for a few months now and filling barrels as quickly as we can while keeping an eye on the science and process necessary to produce the beers we want to.

We're really hoping to get beers out before the end of the year (wouldn't it be cool if we could have some ready for our Sour Fest in October this year!?), but we won't even know if that's possible for a while yet. I can promise you, though, that we're not being coy--we honestly don't know.

 

I missed out last year, when does mocha machine come out again?

 

Idk if they're bottling it again. I mean they had the release about a month ago and just did growler fills..

What I'm looking forward to is system of a stout in June. That stuff is legit.

 

When a proven, world class brewery like Beachwood bbq is hesitant to make promises or assertions regarding what it can accomplish with its wild beers, you get a pretty good idea of the absurdity of the Casa Algria "ultra rare beer society."

The Beer Paper LA 2nd Anniversary party is there tomorrow night. There should be an AMAZING guest beers tap list, but there will also probably be a million people there so there's that.

I'm probably going for lunch on Friday to skip the crowds and drink whatever's left over.

Thanks for all of the recommendations. Drinking a Melrose now. Soo good. Definitely going to buy a few more. But I'll be driving a work vehicle so I'll have to get a growler fill of something as well (hopefully street 3 block 2 - loving hoppy pales right now) and call it good

 

I know it's because it's for The Beer Paper LA but I was hoping for a better tap list. I think I was just dreaming about the tap list from last year when the Shelton Brothers Festival was in town, especially the Friday list. (http://www.beeradvocate.com/community/threads/beachwood-nov-5-7.223051/) I really wish the Festival was in California again, I would definitely take off work this time to be able to have my fill. Ugh.

 

Don't think anything can top that Friday list (excluding festivals). Man... that was a good day.

Ill be here as well, but lm always at Beachwood 5 minutes from home. Laurel is amazing and super fresh, lite brite was solid as well. Udder Love is still on tap but I been told that the tap list is going to be awesome!

 

I was able to snag a Rye Like An Eagle, can't wait to try it out! Thoughts on it?

 

Snag is a bit of an exaggeration. That's like saying you're a sloth wrangler. No, you just pick up inanimate objects. You don't need to snag something that has been sitting on Beachwood's storage space for so long that they finally distributed their barrel aged stuff.

In saying that, it's fucking delicious, and may be one of the few $25 barrel releases that is worth the price tag... well, okay, just barely.
