Will your anniversary beer Hopernicus be available at SB location too? Or only at BWLB?

June 3rd 6pm at LB: 15 Cascade beers on tap, including several from the “Live” series and several which have never been served outside the tasting room in Portland.

June 24th 6pm at LB: 8 Cellarmaker beers plus offerings from 7 of their friends including The Rare Barrel, Sante Adairius, Marin, Berryessa and more! 6PM

June 25th 6pm at LB: San Diego’s Societe Brewing will join us in Long Beach with 8-10 beers on tap.

Looking like I should take a half day on the 24th and get in line...

@homer281 @dcgunman The Cascade event is definitely on 6/23. Not sure where the 3rd came from.

Hopernicus will be available in Seal Beach in limited quantities the day after the anniversary in Long Beach.

I pondered about driving up Saturday night from Comic-Con to attend the Anniversary party but it sounds like I should probably wait til Sunday or Monday. How was the wait last year at night? Did the crowds die down or get worse? Hoping too that Hopernicus bottles will last for at least a couple of days but I doubt it.

What would you suggest? I'm honestly curious. I do have to say that the best stuff I had last year (beer wise) was gone within the first hour or so. But there were still plenty of incredible beers available so I wasn't too upset.

Simple. Spread the BW celebration love out to 1 week. A one day event at BW is crazy as every year it gets more crowded. BW is not getting any bigger size wise. Bottle Logic had a week long event for their 1 year anniversary. BCB's 1 year event was in 3 day over the weekend. Societe is having a 3 week event for their 3rd year anniversary. As big as Beachwood is they are not going anywhere. They are just getting bigger and bigger as the years go. Sure there were all kinds of great beers to drink last year. But are you going to sit there all day and night drinking everything? I think last year there was a 3 hour limit until you were suppose to get kicked out. But I don't think anybody was forced out at 3 hours. They can do special releases daily for a week or from Friday-Sunday (3 day's). Just saying. I will not be going this year. Maybe just to pick up bottles.

See, I'd rather wait in line for an hour than have to commute back and forth to Long Beach a few times over the course of a week. I can appreciate that the week long deals favor those who live closer to those breweries and spend more money there than I do. But I'm sure it's difficult for them to weigh the impact of one crazy day versus seven (potentially) crazy days.

As far as last year, they were definitely making people get up after the 2 hour limit was up. They certainly made us get up. Maybe we got an extra 10 minutes because it took them awhile to get our check but they enforced the limit for every table around us.

Pont taken. So we all have different situations. BWLB is 20-25 minutes away from me. But I hardly ever go to the LB location, only to fill growlers (I will then have lunch and a glass or 2 while I'm waiting for that fill). I'm about 10 minutes out from the SB location so that would be my place of choice. They have some great line up for the LA Beer week at the end of the month. 3 days of Cascade, Societe and Cellerworks in the middle of the week. Traffic will be crazy during those times. I would love to go to all 3. Will I? No. I'm working swiing shift these days. So thats my first problem. I may take a day off just to go to 1 event. Which one? Probably Cellerwork. I get Societe beers on tap right down the street from my house in HB. But I would love to go to all 3 events. If BW does a 3 day or a weeklong anniversary event next year I will go to at least 1 day or 2.
But I can understand where your coming from. All's I want is the anniversary bottles.

You should totally open a brewpub. You've already figured out the perfect way to celebrate the anniversary of what will surely be an incredibly successful business venture, which has to be at least half the battle.
