Doesn't surprise me. I heard recently that Julian didn't particularly care for making cask beers, which is a shame because some of them are fucking fantastic on cask

I found a bottle of Tovarish in the cellar that says "Batch 2." What year would that be?

Does anybody know whether the recent batch of Tovarish will hit distribution? I note the earlier comment above that this release may have been brewery only.

I heard brewery release only. But that's not official. Look on the trade block. I saw many people carrying cases out to their vehicles that Thursday evening. I'm sure some of the bottles will show up somewhere.

From what I heard, they only made half of their usual amount of cases. Something like 150 cases or so. I was surprised when I got there at 5 that it was long gone. Called SB and they stated that it was brewery only and they were out as well. So who knows. I also heard rumor that sterns/wf long beach would get it, but then again, that's all rumors in the wind. The fact that many employees didn't even get a bottle is surprising at how fast it sold out.

There was a limit of 6 bottles. Maybe the release just blew through quicker because it was the day after Christmas and a fair amount of people didn't have work?

Beachwood is on the map. They are legit. And every year they are getting louder. It's only been 3 1/2 years since they been putting out some really strong beers. And it's not even yearly release. Imagine if they had bottles of Melrose, System, Thrillseeker, etc in coolers for sale year round. Maybe thats why their beers stay strong each release.
It's funny how "many" beer drinkers here in the LA/OC area that don't know about BWBBQnB. Never even heard of the name. I run into them almost every time I'm at some other local brewery or pub. They rave about what they are drinking and we get into a conversation and I mention about BW. They have a puzzled look on their face. Newbies.
The Blendery is right around the corner for 2015.

That could be one factor, but add in that far less of it was made this go around, that's a big thing. They didn't even have a Russian menu or cask option of it on tap. So it seemed they wanted to keep the hype for it on the lower end and not promote the event aside from a mention during the 8th anniversary bottle release signage.

Isn't 150 cases the usual amount for Tovarish. I know there original bottle release was less then that, not sure how much they released last year but I was also surprise how fast they sold old. Hopefully it hits up stearns and Lb wf, It typically does.

Believe it's double that for most of their other stuff. One of the bottlers was talking about how they only bottled half of what they would normally do for a run.

Still unsure since the conflicting comments on if it has any distribution at all. Which would be a big change from last year's release.

Was at Stearns an hour ago, and Adam from Beachwood was dropping off some Tovarish. I got there as he was leaving so no idea on case count or when Stearns is putting it up

Yeah, I thought it was a long shot but I grabbed one. When I say plenty, I mean 6 or 7 left.
