Tovarish glassware sold out at a little after noon. I saw people walking away with one or two cases (6 per case) of glasses

Thanks for the updates folks...I guess I'll hit the trade forums... I'll be looking for IP's in OC near Bruery.

Crazy that there were no limits. Breweries can be so out of touch with demand.

Blendery glassware is sold out now too btw

Initially waited in the bottle line but a friend and I decided to go with the draft one, such a better choice. Wait wasn't as long and got the chance to try some of the variants on cask. I think the amaretto is probably my favorite. I don't know if it was a shit show but I had a good time.

I've only read back a few pages, but I was wondering if this will see limited distro like many of their beers? Thanks in advance.

My guess is that it'll hit the usual spots in Long Beach that have had all their other brewery only releases have had. Sterns, Whole Foods LB and the such.

The only real shit show that came of this was the unlimited glass purchase ability. It seemed like everyone in the front walked away with a box of six just because.

I'm kind of curious why they don't follow the Blendery model and just hand out tickets to the line based on how many bottles they have and how many you want and that you would have till X time to buy them, but for the mean time just enjoy food and drink or hey, buy the beer if you want. But at least that way there's no screwing over folks who go solo who couldn't anchor a second person to the tables/restaurant line while they stood in line for bottles.

I briefly talked to Gabe and a few fine folks at Beachwood and it seemed like their main concern was that they would not sell all the glasses and be stuck with them at the end of the day. I totally understand this concept, but I told them this is 2015 and there were about 300 people in a line that wrapped around the block plus there's a whole glassware sub-culture these days.

Tickets would've been nice. I suggested to them to just take a quick survey (e.g. raise your hands if you are interested in buying a glass) to get a general idea and then maybe set a limit. Obviously you still wouldn't please everyone but at least you don't have a handful of people buying up all the glasses. What does a person getting (limit) 6 bottles of Tovarish need 12+ Tovarish glasses for? I know not everyone is into glassware but some of us would've liked to have one glass. They seemed pretty receptive to this.

Beyond the glassware, I thought the rest of the event was great. Bottle sales in the back area worked well and kept the restaurant part free and the Russian food and beer lineup was fantastic. That Japanese style lager they had on tap called Hayabusa was excellent.

But then again, a limited wine release could involve thousands of bottles.

Probably a safe bet that we'll be seeing some of these T glassware showing up on eBay.

Shockingly. None on eBay as of right now. Have they made an appearance on the trade forums yet?

Every sought after winery has an online portal to buy wine. They release it on X day and Y time. They know their clients have something better to do than to wait in line to buy wine.

But there are still some lines in Europe at state monopolies for releases of DRC. People will wait hours for it. But that's a very rare occurrence and happens once a year

They really should have put a limit after people started buying a case or two at a time. I definitely wanted a glass and am mildly disappointed that I didn't get one.

I wish they would start a ticket system so bottle buyers can grab a table and pick up their bottles at their leasure. In the end I waited in the restaurant line and my friend grabbed me 3 bottles. Getting a table for two wasn't bad but the group of 4 in front of me ended up waiting 2 1/2 hours for their table.

Anyway, I had (our waitress orginally told us it was only 1 full pour or 2 half pours per seating, but an hour later she corrected that to per order, but the two us stuck to just the 5 half pours because we wanted to drink some hoppy stuff, too):

2011 Tovarish - held up really well compared to 2015!
    2015 Tovarish
Cocoa Pebbles - hell yes, my favorite of the 3 we had
Tiramisu - smelled phenomenal, almost as good as cocoa pebbles.
Double Espresso - this was a miss for me, just too thin and dry and bitter

It was a fun day, ended up going to the Blendery, Phantom Carriage, and El Segundo (which was rocking) afterwards. Then I fell asleep on the Blue Line after my friend dropped me off in Culver City hahahah.
