Beachwood BBQ Beer Releases Thread

SoaS is fairly appreciated as it relates to bartering brews in my personal experience...

 

I'll have an extra Mocha Machine in your honor tonight, IQ.

 

Heading down now to try Rye Like an Eagle on Tap to see if its worth $$$, besides they have mocha machine flowing as well.

 

No line at Beachwood SB at 11:30am. Got a pour of Rye Like An Eagle, really good. Seems like it will age well too. Very cocoa upfront, hints of the dark fruits & vanilla. I liked it better than Sadie (i dug that too). No Mocha Machine at the Seal Beach location, but they still had Hop Ninja & Ultrahop 2000.

 

C'mon guys, you're slacking off. There's still two cases of Thrillseeker in the walk-in at Brea Total Wine.

 

Drinking a Rye Like an Eagle at Beachwood right now. It's fantastic. Sweet toffee and caramel goodness with a thin body. Dangerous!

 

Yes. Was there yesterday and had a half of RLaE after a full Hop Ninja. Not a rye kinda guy, but it was good. . . .for rye. The only rye I like is Nelson. Alpine that is. Not the GF version of ABC. Was also going to get a half a Mocha Machine and decided I better not. That RLaE was enough.

 

Do they still have any bottles of it left? Was feeling lazy in getting down there the other night but I'll be a block away later tonight. Figured if it was still for sale I'd buy one.

Reminded me of BCBW. $25 is a bit steep but bought two anyway. I was sick when I drank it and barrel came through strong.

 

Noble's Citra Yum Yum TIPA is on at BW. Yummy.

 

Well, your results may vary, but I went down there with the intent of buying 1 or 2 of the Rye Like an Eagle. After a taster pour, though, I bought 6 (the limit). IMO it is their best BA effort (and I'm a huge Beachwood fan in general). I liked Sadie, thought 8 Buffalo was just OK, but this one is absolutely stellar.

 

Anyone know if it's still available?

 

Hey Jesse, check the hop cam. If you see the sign under the tap then yes they have some bottles left. I thought it was pretty good. But I'm not going to pay 25 for it. That just me and my cheap ass.

 

haven't opened them bottles yet. Will do so today. At least one of them. Another killer hot day in surf city.

 

Denver Jackhammer was put on today and tasting as dank as ever. They also finally posted their (bottle)release calendar for the next few months.

As a side note, BWLB had had Cellarmaker Dobis on the past few days and will be tapping "I See a Dankness" next

 

Big fan of Denver Jackhammer -- need to try and convince my wife that we should head down there tomorrow (unlikely, but I can dream).

Also on the docket for upcoming brews is their first ever weizenbock, La Cabra...should be interesting. I think they really hit a homerun with Alt(ernate) Reality

 

They've had a ton of Cellarmaker up lately. I think 'mo nelson was put up last night.
