My only complaint is that there's very little reason to give out the tickets 45 minutes prior to the event. You want synergy? Give them out at 11 (there was already a decent line) and just have people know they got the bottles on lock as they go get pours and lunch at Beachwood *prime* a block away.

And they really probably should just have smaller flights or only pours inside and keep all the bottle pick ups to the back. There was a massive bottle necking when you're in the blendary itself as some orders are really complicated with bottles, merch and pour purchases. Held up that line pretty bad.

Getting caught up.. Is Propagation Series ending because they listened and agreed the numbering for labels was bad? Or other reasons?

I thought Propagation Series was used as a way to dial in their base beer...

It was a bunch of one off experimental type beers, a lot of which were for educational purposes. Berliner with Rye, Berliner with Oats, Berliner with Rice, etc. Now they are releasing 'lambic' because they are finally ready

It was never suppose to be any thing more than them trying different things to see what worked and what they needed to dial in. The shitty label and naming was simply because they didn't have any plans to return to those brews or be beholden to do so because of a proper name and label art.

OK, I have to bump this thread.

The beers I've had from the non-propagation series (and even from the omega and infinity bottlings of that series) have been SO GOOD.

Like, I get that this is a long term operation and they're not even at the point that they can blend their beers... but, what they're doing RIGHT NOW equals if not exceeds so many other SoCal breweries in terms of funky beers.

It just seems so completely slept on that it's insane.

    So... bump.

it's the pricing, a few bucks cheaper and it would be sold out.

I agree 100%. There are plenty of breweries trying to look like a Belgian tasting room attempting to brew lambic style beers, but they are just completely nailing it.

Are their fruited releases selling out the day they are released? I see they are releasing Apricot Eugene on Sept 17, I will be down in SoCal the next weekend. Any chance it may still be for sale?

They still have bottles of Passionfruit Eugene after the first weekend. Demand might be higher for a stone fruit sour, but based on how their releases have been so far (Fortune Favors the Funk still available, for instance), I would say there's a good chance it's available the following weekend.

that blueberry one was amazing. And as for being slept on. I think the propagation series just really did a lot of damage to their name and recognition.

Though I don't mind being able to walk in and get my fill so it's all good in the hood for me.

agreed^. I don't think the price has anything to do with the lack of hype, $18-20 / 750ml is a deal.

You really think it damaged them? Was it because people didn't know what Beachwood's aim was in those beers?
