Long Beach, CA (April 2013) – Hopheads rejoice! Beachwood Brewing, known for creating masterfully hop centric beers, is debuting their first bottled IPA -- THRILLSEEKER West Coast IPA on April 9.

Thrillseeker starts with a base of American 2-row malt and a dose of extra light caramel malt which let the hops power through. The IPA is then generously hopped with Chinook, Summit, Centennial, and Simcoe which lays down a massive citrus and tropical hop profile. As Brewmaster and co-owner Julian Shrago explains, “Hop-focused beers are a big part of the Beachwood Brewing philosophy. Dry hopping with Simcoe and Chinook really creates an explosively bright and crisp aroma.”

"We’ve been planning on this release for quite some time, trying to balance the demand for our IPAs to be bottled and the unique challenges that they endure, says co-owner Gabriel Gordon. “It’s exciting to know that folks who can’t easily make it over to our Long Beach or Seal Beach spots will now have the chance to enjoy Thrillseeker. It’s best appreciated fresh. Find it at your local craft beer store and drink it – don’t hold on to this one.”

Thrillseeker West Coast IPA will be sold in 22 oz. bottles at finer craft beer retailers across Los Angeles, Orange and San Diego counties. The IPA will also be available on draft at both Beachwood BBQ locations.

Anyone know how much of this stuff is going to be out there? My wife is headed down there next week. Their last bottle release was really minimal if I remember correctly.

Tovarish went super fast, but the last one is still sitting at some bottle shops in SD.

There was two bottle releases after Tovarish.

    The 6th anniversary smoke saison
Full Malted Jacket (BA was limited to the restaurants at around 150 bottles or so. non-BA made it to many shops)

8 bones per bomber of single IPA... *shrug* i like Beachwood a lot but I'll have to stick to enjoying their beers on tap for now.

This is great news for fans of world class IPA/DIPA that cannot get to their SB or LB locations. The fact that Thrillseeker is being bottled gives one hope that we will see Amalgamator, Hop Ninja, Citraholic and Denver Jackhammer coming off the bottling line in the near future.Julian and the BW team are crushing it with everything they do.

    Cheers !

Good beer and all, but why not Melrose? Pretty surprising they would pick anything but that. Lack of the correct hops?

Melrose would of been nice for there first IPA release. But thrillseeker is good also. I can see Amalgamator being bottled in the near future as the first batch killed in 9 days. I think Julian doubled the 2nd batch of Amalmagator this time around. So I can see them bottling it as the demand is there. Hell, I've already had 5 growler fills on the newest batch of Amalgamator! 8 bones is a little pricey. Especially if you can get a growler fill for 17. But I would def buy the bottles. You got other sub par brewery's out there selling their bottles for 8-10. Hope to see Gabe open up his own bottle shop in Seal Beach one day.

yeah I was kind of expecting Melrose to be the first bottled IPA from Beachwood. Whatever. I'm not complaining.

I'm a pretty regular Beachwood patron and I'm very excited 1) they are bottling ANY of their IPAs and 2) that they chose Thrillseeker (my favorite of their regular lineup!)

How many bottles? Limits? I'm sure this is not going to be a regular seller. They already stated that they are just doing special releases in bottles. All the art work for their labels are great. They could sell t-shirts with the same art work. They don't need to. But they could. Release day is April 9. I will be there.

Interestingly enough, it would cost you about $8.06, pre-tax, to enjoy 22oz of Thrill Seeker on tap at the brewpub.
    ($5.5 / 15oz) x 22oz

Awesome, I'll be down there April 9th. Will they have bottles at both locations?

You're right about that, though, drinking at Beachwood is on the cheaper end when compared to other on-premises establishments, particularly, bars where a 12-16 oz pour costs about $7-$8.

Bottles should be at both locations, ya. Though the brewpub is probably a more reliable source.

I hope this translates well in the bottle. Love this beer on draft, and excited to see more and more Beachwood beers in bottles!
