    This years version is coming out now (i'm seeing people out west report it on draft pretty readily available). When should bottles come out and how far east will they make it (Ohio perchance???) I'd like to get a few bombers or so to taste their use of the new hop from Hopsteiner called Lemondrop...

    Doesn't Stone Delicious IPA also use Lemondrop hops?

    We got some Apex bombers last year in Ohio, but it seemed somewhat limited and didn't last on shelves all that long..

    Any chance this will make it into New England. I tried this last year and thought it was exceptional.

    Didn't really dig the big lemon flavor from stone's delicious ipa. If lemon drop is being used in this beer I'll be passing.

    "Apex Special IPA is an 8.95% (Imperial?) IPA, with over 100 IBUs contributed by Cascade, Columbus, Centennial, Chinook, Simcoe, Mosaic and Citra hops."

    I don't think they changed the hops this year. Pretty good bottled DIPA.

    Hopsteiner tweeted last week that This year's Apex is exclusively using Lemondrop. I believe the Apex by nature changes their hop profile every year to whatever is flashy and new...

    Had this year's its good, not nearly as off putting as the Lemon Drop in Delicious. YMMV

    This year's release notes.
    Brewmaster/COO Richard “Ricardo” Norgrove states, “Apex is an ever-changing beer. Each year the hop profiles change, based upon new hops and offerings. Join me as I search for the perfect apex.”

    Norgrove adds, “This year’s release highlights new hop varieties, Azacca and Lemondrop, giving it a very enjoyable tropical and citrusy aroma.”

    2015 Hops include: Cascade, Columbus, Centennial, Chinook, Simcoe, Citra, El Dorado, Azacca, Lemondrop

    I was just at the bear this evening. Enjoyed two lemon drop rebellions (single hop ale). And the apex will be back on tap This Thursday. This year they do include the lemon drop hop in the mix. It has also now becoming a house ale, so will be available year round. I had it a couple weeks ago and the lemon drop isn't so profound as you would think. Cheers!

    It sounds like Lemon Drop Rebellion is a house beer? If not I'd like to trade for some of it.
