Bear Republic Pulling Out of Michigan?

    Local pub posted on facebook that Bear Republic would not be distributing to Michigan soon. Anybody else heard about this? I mean we just got them a couple years ago and Racer 5 has quickly become one of my favorite everyday IPAs.

    I have not heard anything but I suppose I would not be too upset if this is true. Racer 5 was pretty much the only beer I ever bought from them, the others were good but not necessarily noteworthy. With Finest Kind rolling in as Smuttynose sets up I think that is a more than adequate replacement in my mind.

    Pretty sure it's true. They are pulling out of Chicago for sure. I think they've got some water shortages or something, and need to work on a fairly massive well digging operation or something.

    I for one am saddened. Everything I've had from them I found to be pretty great (Racer 5, Hop Rod Rye, Red Rocket, and Big Bear Black Stout). Wish I had picked up Racer X when I had the chance.

    Saw some Bear Republic on shelves at 2 stores while searching for BC on Friday. Old stock or are they back?

    Bed Bath & Beyond in Schaumburg still had Bear Republic as of last month.

    Honestly never even tried a beer from them. To many beers to little time. Can't see it as a huge loss to MI....

    I havent noticed anything from them in two years. Every store i went to back then only had two different beers from them. Not a big deal to me~ Can't compete with two beers to Michigan's awesome selection.

    Well, that would be on me then. When I saw product on the shelf where it wasn't stocked in the last two years either the distributor is releasing old stock or they are back in MI.
