As I'm posting this I'm drinking a deliciously fresh racer 5 ipa in Chicago, and since this is one of my favorite all time, year round, always in my fridge ipa's I have to pose a question; what else should I be looking for besides racer 5?

This is the only bear republic brew I've tried and I can't help but wonder if I should be seeking out and trying some of their other stuff.

Seasonals that get distributed here, year rounds that I haven't tried? If you guys could help me out I'd appreciate it. As good as racer 5 is I'm pretty sure I'm missing out on something...

Hop Rod Rye is pretty tasty. They also occasionally bottle Racer X and Cafe Racer 15 nowadays.

Really, any of their beers that they actually bottle and distribute are enjoyable. And it's not that many, so try em all!

Yeah, Hop Rod Rye is pretty good stuff. Both Racer X and Cafe Racer 15 are fantastic. Also, this probably doesn't make it out there yet, but if you can find Tartare...amazeballs.

Big bear stout is my favorite go-to, lesser cost stout in the world!

You aren't going to go wrong with any of the regular Bear Republic line-up. Big Bear Black Stout is one of the best California stouts brewed.

Everything has really been said, but I'll reiterate. Hop Rod Rye is one of the best in that style, Big Bear is one of my favorite traditional stouts, and Red Rocket is phenomenal. Cafe 15 is one of my top tier DIPAs but it has to be pretty fresh. It starts losing some hop after a month and a half or so, I've found. It is probably the only DIPA I've ever noticed such a short life on. Even Enjoy By is still pretty damn good 3 months in.

Big Bear Black Stout. MOST UNDER-RATED / UNDISCUSSED Stout on BA. Even at it's high rating IMHO

Ok, maybe not "that" under-rated on here...

Pete's Tribute Briwn Ale is the greatest brown ale ever. Black Bear Stout is awesome too.

Racer 5 began my love affair with IPAs so it holds a special place in my heart. Cafe 15 and racer x are amazing DIPAs but only seasonal/limited release. My favorite year around releases are black bear stout and red rocket.

    Love me some racer 5!

    Thanks for all the responses!

When are cafe 15 and racer x usually released? Is hop rod rye good?

Dear god Tartare was fantastic. Easily my favorite american sour. Above the RR stuff for me.

Racer X is possibly better than PTE and Enjoy By IMO. I have also had Racer 5 and Cafe Racer 15 and have always wondered why each of these isn't on the top 250 list.

I haven't had a bad beer by them yet! All of the Racers have been good, but still have to try the Cafe 15 that is chilling in my fridge... Also enjoyed the Rye, and the Red.

    Try them all!
