They have a couple of things in barrels and hopefully we will see a bottle or two at the anniversary party in a few months.

 

I always heard they were gonna release something a few months later for some event ...

Yeah i heard the stout was gonna be for CBC, but i wasnt gonna advertise that everywhere till i heard it was 100 percent.

What's the story with Bearded Iris can releases? Do they sell out day of usually? Will be driving through the area in the new year wondering if can sales will last into the weekend if they do a Friday release.l?

 

Their website is generally pretty good at showing availability of cans, plus they sell crowlers. Website shows that there are 4 different canned beers available today; given that they generally release new canned beers on Fridays, that's a good indication that cans stay around for more than a few days: http://www.beardedirisbrewing.com/beers/ Long way of saying: you should be fine.

 

While there are often folks that rush to BI (sometimes line up) on Friday afternoons at 2pm to load up on whatever their latest release is, I'm not sure I know of a case where they've sold out same day. They typically have inventory of 2-4 different canned offerings through the weekend and often into the next week. So no worries of a Trillium (or the like) situation.

Yet.

 

Now at noon, which is a good thing. Traffic on friday sucks anytime after 1 now .

 

You got that right about Friday traffic. Feels like it starts getting bad earlier and earlier every week. When did they make the switch to noon openings on Fridays? I wasn't aware of that, and they're still showing 2pm on the website.

Stout season has arrived and I leave town right before the release

 

Out of towner here, visiting family for the holiday this weekend. I know BI says the taproom is kid friendly but any additional insight regarding when are not good times to bring two young kids is appreciated. Would like to avoid bringing them if it’s crowded, cramped, loud, etc. Thanks in advance.

 

Hard to predict the crowd with it being a holiday weekend, but Saturdays from about 2-4 seem to always be the busiest. There's plenty of tables and places to sit, and they have a pretty big collection of board games (although some aren't kid friendly).

Imagine this Friday will be pretty crazy with people grabbing cans of V Fudge, and stocking up on cans/crowlers before heading out of town. Other than that, I think you'll be good at going whenever. Enjoy. Cheers!

 

Looks like I will try to swing by ASAP after landing Friday, if only to pick up cans. What're the chances the Dbl Scatterbrain DDH w/Nelson lasts through Friday?

 

I think there's a decent chance since they've had several cans on the board the last 2 weeks. If not, there should be plenty available on draft for you to get a crowler.

Don't let the parking lot fool you on Friday. They share a parking lot with two other businesses. I imagine it will be fairly busy, though.

 

20 for a 4 P.K. of non BA Stout? I’m gonna get some, but geeze, they better knock this out of the park.
