Please ask for more than those. I know us California BAers are more reasonable than others, but lets not be too nice

What do you mean more than those?

More than just ZD and HT? I'm sorry I didn't follow what you meant.

Go get a case of beat and have it on draft. Wait and see what it trades for and shoot for what you like as well. I was (half) joking above, but yea get what you want.

Thanks for the advice. Honestly Ill probably grab 6 bottles(unless someone wants to use me as a mule for my other 6), drink 1, store 1, and trade the other 4.

ZD and HT are made all year round and are limited distro. You'll want to offer up other, year-round limited distro stuff. You want to save the brewery-only limited releases like Beat for other brewery-only limited releases. Except for certain BCBS variants, of course. You'll need to add a gonad or two to make it even.

You may not believe this based on what everyone else is saying, but you can offer whatever you want for whatever you want. If Darkness and Heady are what you want, and the deal feels fair to you, go for it.

Lots of people here want to "win" a trade or try To preserve some sort of bottle value By talking crap on other people's offers. But in the end, if both parties are happy with the trade, and get something they want, they both win. Don't get wrapped up in the bs politics of people's opinions. Find a few solid, reliable, consistent trade partners and be generous, and it'll come back to you in spades.

Thanks for keeping California looking classy.
I've ready got a connection for Beat, so I have no bias in this game. But feel free to make me look like an asshole who's just trying I keep his beers "up" in value. And I'll continue to trade fair to everyone who cares to enage with me.

You could drink it too?! It's pretty damn good. Don't listen to the folks telling you it shouldn't be traded for HT or Darkness, find something you want and get that. Holding beers for ransom is why trading is shitty here anymore, find a couple regulars and it can be a bunch of fun though.

I keep seeing arguments like this and I can't help but think they're self-serving. People entering into the trade market today are joining at a time when there seems to be no limit to profiteering. It's easy for people who have existing trade partners in ideal places to claim that it's all about finding an offer that both sides are happy with but what does that exactly mean? You used to be able to see a good amount of fair trades being offered and by fair, I mean trades where the value and rarity were even on both sides of the trade. Now it's the standard to see offers where one side is obviously winning.

I agree. The winner is always predetermined, whereby the winner is whoever is holding what is the new release, because newer is obviously better, and holds more value than whats older. If you want whats new, you pay a premium. Thats the game.

Yea, I plan on drinking 1, saving 1, and Ive already been hit up 3x's from people asking for my extras..

I may just stay the night until Sun and grab another 12 the way this seems...

More I read the more I want to hold onto my 6.. seems like it would benefit me in the future for trades by holding onto some of this.

Hmm...may have to upset a few people...

What that means is both people have a beer they enjoy.

And if you don't like the trade scene these days, maybe you should try to change the game then. That's where I'm at.

And feel free to email anyone in my Completed trades list. I don't think you'll find anyone who feels like they "lost" a trade to me.

Yeah, these days a lot of people are trying to win trades. Some of us aren't. I find new trade partners all the time. Some of them don't pan out. Most of them are good people who just want to try good stuff. You wanna fair trade? Make a fair trade. Or take a little loss. And trust people a little bit. You might get burned once or twice, but you'll learn how to tell who's legit.

There was a time, a while ago, where all of us weren't cynical a-holes. I try to still not be. Call me crazy.

Yes, there are a lot of people trying to win trades and that makes it difficult for people who may not already have good trade relationships in place. Think about what you're saying. You're ultimately encouraging people to take a loss in the beginning in order to forge the types of relationships that would yield the types of trades that should be standard in the first place. A dude from Chicago shouldn't have to send out a Rare to get a DDG (due to Rare costing more and is now more limited due to age). Likewise, a dude from SD shouldn't have to send out a DDG to get a Proprietor's Reserve as the latter is half the cost of the former, not to mention likely about twice the bottle count. If there was a lot more respect going around, these types of discussions wouldn't even be necessary.
