I have thought about what I'm saying. I happily sometimes send out more than my fair share. And I sometimes receive more than my fair share. And when the latter happens, I make up for it. Sometimes right away. Sometimes down the line. Does the person I'm trading with always reciprocate? maybe not. but that doesn't bother me. Because I'm not out to win trades. I'm out to taste a few beers, and if I have extras, send them off for things I haven't had yet. Some rare. Most not.

And, for the record, bottle count was similar on DDG and coconut. And if someone with an extra ddg gets a coconut for it and is happy with it, what's the big deal? and if someone with an extra coconut gets a ddg for it and is happy with it, what's the big deal?

Anyway, I'm done arguing. Ive said my peace. You trade how you feel best works for you. I'll do the same. But I'm not going to encourage anyone to "ask for more" for any bottle they post for trade if they feel like what they're asking for is going to make them happy. But I'm sure someone will.

1,000 cases of beat and 1,000 cases of proprietors right? Only exception being brewery only vs metropolitan only?
I know proprietors is a single release, whereas beat is just about every year. But proprietors is essentially every year, with variations. One could argue beat has variations also, as the inherent nature of the style of beer is spontaneity and each batch is different.
Wats my point? Lets trade it straight up!!!! Should i post this in this midwest forum?

Brah, you know it's not going to trade 1 to 1 because according to pretty much everyone looking to win trades, Beat is "easy" to get and won't sell out in one day. Plus, there's the gopickitupformebro factor. This is a case where theoretically those beers should trade 1 for 1, but in reality, will more often than not happen unless you have existing trading partners willing to make the trade.

I'm not sure what 88 barrels truly yields but it'll be in the realm of 12-15k wouldn't it? If so, I'd say that's not very similar to DDG's 7200 bottles.

So sad my first trip to Russian River from FL is a week too early. Oh well, maybe next year.

If you live near Peg's I'm sure you can set up a trade (like with me!!)
You picked a good week to come weather wise though.

Why trade if you can keep 12 bottles for yourself? Or more if you have parents coming MUWAHAHAHA.

Anyone got any idea how they'll work the two different lines- pub entry line out front and bottles-to-go line out back? Have they done this before for any previous releases?

They did this for the last Beatification release. There was a line going through a side door out front where Natalie was letting people through. You then passed on to the bar where you told them how many you wanted (it was a 6 limit last time), paid for it, then brought your receipt into the back warehouse where Vinnie and some others were giving you your allotment. This was at 9am and the pub did not open until 11am. People formed a separate line at the normal pub entrance after they had gotten their bottles. At 11 the pub opened like normal and was immediately packed with a pretty long wait for people out front.

    Thanks
Thanks. But isn't the pub also opening at 9am this year (might be wrong on this)?

Gonna make your parents stand in line with you? Good luck with that

Oh, and there are bottle limits for tables now.

Can you shed some more light on the bottle limits for tables?

I was planning on drinking Beat on draft until I had my fill and then ordering a case. My biggest concern was getting into the pub, have a Beat or 3 and then they pull the limit down or cut off sales for the day before I've had my chance to order mine.

I don't know what it's going to be, but lately they've limited everything (FFaC, Pliny, etc.). Beat will probably be 12 bottles/table.

It will be 12 the first day but after that no one knows but Natalie

For FfaC the initial limit was one case per person or 2 per table (with 2 or more people). Not sure how it was scaled down after the first few hours.

Part of me is tempted to drive up from LA and buy a case. The other part of me wants to avoid spending $200. Hopefully they'll have it at Firestone Invitational 2014 and I can jump on next year if I really like it.

I wouldn't be surprised if they get a lot of people to show up, and cut the allotment down to 6 to make sure everybody gets some or that it lasts hopefully a week. I'd be cool with that.
