Are later batches considered "whales" or what? I am unsure, because I tend to not see them trade specifically for other beers. Instead, I generally see them in long lists of "FT: List ISO: List" trades. I am aware that the earlier batches are crazy rare, but I am interested in trying any batch to be honest. Any idea on this, folks? I am trying to land 2 bottles and am prepared to offer bottles such as Sans Pagaie, Melange 3, Boxer's Revenge, and other things, but I am not sure how many 750s I want to give up for these small, albeit probably delicious, sour brews from RR! I also have the option of buying Batch 5 bottles from a guy for $50 each, but I am not sure whether that comes with lube or not
If you aren't strapped for cash, paying $50 to get a bottle might not be all that bad. Don't think the bottles you listed would pry a bottle away from anyone, I know I had to give up brewery only releases to get my one bottle.
Oh wow. So they're that difficult to land, then. Maybe I will drop the $50 in that case. That's a tough trigger to pull though!
$50 is a bit steep, but offering Bruery beers to guys in California (who I assume have most of the Beatification for trade) won't get you very far. A reasonably tasty beer from your state or a surrounding one should land it. Batch 5 is definitely not a whale.
I'm trading a bottle of Beatification batch 5 for a bottle of L'Brett D'Or...to give you an idea of an actual trade. I've also included one in a larger trade centered around bottles of Armand & Tommy. It's going to be hard to land one with Bruery stuff since CA traders hold a large percentage of Beatification bottles and they can get Bruery beers fairly easily. It's also hard to justify spending $50 on a 375ml bottle though. Good luck! It's certainly a beer that is worthy of the hype.
I haven't traded beatification for 4pk Kbps a few times. However this was at the time of release last year, but should be around the same still
Yeah, I know the California guys won't need any Bruery stuff...was hoping someone else in another state might be willing to come off a couple bottles. But you all are probably right. And there is no way in hell my last 4 pack of KBS is going up for trade! I will have to work on this a bit more. Maybe in a couple weeks I will be able to procure some NC goodies that might have the pull I need. Thanks all!
Just wait for the next release and trade for some at $15. The beer trades usually for other semi limited stuff. Don't need to drop $50 for it.
I will definitely keep that in mind. Any idea when they release it usually? Also, I am still going to try to land one. I am actually trying to get one this week so I can give/share as a gift for a friend, whose daughter is expected to be born next week. I am going to offer up a Moat Water and maybe something else....maybe that'll bring one in!
Not exactly sure. Should be this year though, last I heard. Bottles are $15. Limited beers like Moat Water would definitely get it done.
i traded black note 12oz 6:2 for beat b5. worth it for sure. beat b5 is quite possibly the sourest thing i've ever tasted.
There are plenty of Russian River sours you can land with local Virginia beers. You just recently listed some as wants. Perhaps line up a trade for those (Sanctification, Consecration, Supplication), enjoy them, and maybe you can get a Beatification for round two if you impress the people you traded with. Surely your home state of Virginia produces trade ammo as good as Moat Water- how about Hardywood Park?
Appreciate the response. Yes, Hardywood has made a couple good ones so far, namely GBS. Otherwise, I do not consider a lot of their beers to be that great (Sidamo was awesome too, though). Regardless, they do not distribute outside of Richmond, which I am about 3 hours from. So, I definitely go up for special releases, but do not really have regular access to them. Your point about Consecration, Supplication, and Sanctification is a good one, and I will probably try to get those soon as well - Consecration is my favorite sour so far. In other news, I just landed my first Beat, so I am good now! Thanks all!
