Off to Duke and Que, where the above is based after work tonight (via a few hours in the Southampton Arms!)

    Anyone tried their beers, comments?

I don't like the photoshopped pictures on their site. Unless the smoked porter is golden/clear coloured...

I found the website offputting.Hope the beer is better than their publicity.

Got to Duke and Que (the brewery tap, 2 minutes walk from Haggerston LOROL) at about 20 past 7 and the place was packed!

A one roomed bar/restaurant with all of the tables reserved for diners from 8pm ish (it did say this on the website), although there were a couple of 'tall' tables with stools by the bar, which we managed to bag after our first pint.

6 beers on cask which included their own 'Smog Rocket' - the afforementioned smoked porter, Oakham - JHB, a Roosters beer, Redemption - Hopspur, one I can't recall plus one of Beavertowns other beers that had just gone off!

6 keg beers including Brew Dog - Punk IPA and a couple of European offerings, and a large fridge with 20 to 30 bottles including all 3 Beaverstown beers and a few American numbers (some tasty Bear Republic offerings winking at me!)

The food looked great - we would have eaten but it was fully booked, all pit BBQ stuff, pulled pork, ribs, big tasty burgers. They did offer us some starters at the bar so I had fried mac cheese balls (like a scotch egg with mac cheese) - they were very good!

I digress and back to the business end ... I had 3 pints of the Smog Rocket from the cask and a most decent beer it was too! Dark, roasted malts and a good level of smoking, enough so you notice it, but it doesn't overwhelm!

I also had a bottle of their 'Neck Oil' from the fridge. OK, but not on the same level as the Smog Rocket, but would like to try on cask

Decent beer and a decent venue - a must re-visit and book a table for tasty BBQ with my beer!

Forgot to mention they also give 10% off drinks to CAMRA members at Dukes and Que, which was a bonus!
