As for the original topic, there is no wrong answer. Close enough that you can hit both in the same day for sure, and advisable to do so. Each their own, SB will always feel like home, but so many good aspects of the LB locale that it's a dead heat IMO. So spoiled here in LB to have them both!

Tonight I say LB, simply because fresh Melrose is back ! For me, probably one of, if not the best IPA's being brewed on the west coast right now. The attention to detail and quality is stunning. This super fresh batch, just released for the 2nd Anniversary is simply insanely delicious on all points.

    Cheers,

Definitely check out both. LB will have more house beers on tap, SB has the best bottle list north of San Diego and south of the Bay.

The 2nd Anniversary gig was a blast, so many amazing beers and guest taps. Ran into a lot of great freinds enjoying a beautiful summer day on the promenade. My hats off to Julian and the crew, and Shane, thanks buddy for keeping our glasses full when it was wall to wall in the afternoon, we got to try a LOT of great BW classics. Dank Matter is frikin insane.

    Cheers,

i went too and agree, Dank Mater is amazing. my first time there, and first time trying any Beachwood brews. will definitely be seeking them out.

wish i could remember the other IPAs I had that i liked. did have System of a Stout. thought it was decent but was expecting to be more impressed i guess

2nd Anniversary party was epic. Dank Matter was my favorite, had almost a Pliny taste to it. Melrose also was fantastic along with Hopular Mechanics. BA Full Malted Jacket was incredible with almost a brandy like quality. The food they prepared for Saturday paired well with all the brews.

As far as locations I would lean towards L.B.

2nd anniversary was a blast! Food was on par & beers were off the chain. Had Dank Matter & still stand by Melrose as my fav IPA from them. Tovarish was deliciousness in a glass & BA Full Malted Jacket even managed to get a this is tasty from my gf who hates barrel aged beers. Great time, nuff said!

Had Melrose x1 1/2, Dank x1 and Societe the Pupil x1 1/2. Hot Dog was great. Pigs feet slimy but good. Pickled eggs outta sight. A great turn out. How was the evening session? I would think it was even busier.

David, the late afternoon session was a blast, 3:30-6:00pm was our stay. Great weather, great diverse crowd, i.e super hot BW beer girls, and that super friendly vibe that reflects the BW culture. We started with Dank, insane ! then we had Melrose, Pupil, Hopular Mechanics, SOAS. All except Dank we ordered in small pours.

    Cheers.......
