Beer Abstinence

Nope actually went from 316 pounds to 216. Walk around now between 220-225. Depending on how my running/biking/beer drinking goes.

I am also on antibiotics since Tuesday for a sinus infection. I haven't had any beer since Sunday and I think I am going to have a few tonight. Just FYI a lot of antibiotics don't have an interaction with alcohol.

 

The only thing I suggest with antibiotics is using probiotics after too. They really keep your digestive system great and you can not overdose on them what so ever!

I would say screw it and drink on the antibiotics. I think the longest I've gone without a beer since i turned 21 would be about 3 or 4 days.

 

Since getting into craft beer, two weeks is my longest time without any.

 

1987-2003.

 

I abstained from beer for three months last year while I was on antibiotics to treat prostatitis. That first beer I had once I was better tasted wonderful.

 

Every time my gut flares up (Crohns disease) I'm off the brew. Last time was 7 months and that happen to be the longest single time. But if I have to change meds I could be off for a long time......

 

Since descending into craft, only five days. (Though it's only been about a year)

It was a test of will to abstain.

Hooray for alcoholism! Probably a week since getting into craft about 8 months ago when I turned 21. Since I started drinking (when I was 18), I took 10 weeks off one time after getting much sicker than usual from a blackout lol.

 

I try to take a few days off every week just so that i'll enjoy it more when i get around to having one. But if I want one I'm like fuck it. I feel your pain though. I was on antibiotics for about a week and went to goose island trying to get the coffee stout and went to binnys behind it right after. Hardest thing i've ever had to do is not get a beer.

 

every Lent I give up all alcohol. About 6 weeks.

 

Since I've got into this the longest period has been 7 days.

 

I would say 2-3 weeks would be the longest since I got into good beer. I have probably averaged 1 beer a night over the last 2.5 years. A beer a day keeps the doctor away?

 

Since I have been here about two weeks has been my longest break

 

Attempting to impose a beer hiatus on myself (till the 17th ) since I tweaked the eff out of my back and can't work out. Currently on day 4. Trying to apply a lesson learned from the last time I hurt myself, beer + no exercise = angry scale.

then, I gave it up for (almost) a month when I had an A-Fib attack that the doctors thought was due to "binge drinking"... I told them I have a beer or two 5 nights a week, obviously I'm a binge drinker... so they suggested I stop drinking until they did some tests, so I did. almost made it easily until the girlfriend I had for three years broke up with me the week of my finals... Then I had a six pack. In a couple hours.
