Just trying to work out the itinerary for my Vermont trip. This community has been super helpful with lodging tips, and I really appreciate y’all. My next question would be if anyone has any insight on brewery - specifically alchemist - accessibility from the Stowe rec path. Google maps leads me to believe alchemist can be walked to via the path but just wanted to confirm that’s a reality. I’m considering parking at one of the entrance points and taking like a 20 minute stroll to alchemist. Kids could use an energy outlet before making them sit at a pub and behave while I try a hand pulled heady.

The bike path goes right thru the parking lot of Idletyme Brewery. Beers are meh, food is good and the outdoor patio is awesome in the summer. Super family friendly. Alchemist is across street from bike path. Chase Park is a great entrance to the path and is across street from Alchemist. With small kids, I'd recommend just parking at Alchemist and have them run wild in the outdoor family friendly beer garden. Then drive across street and park at Chase to enter path.

thanks for the tip. I think I’ll do that. Somehow I thought the new pub was replacing the beer garden. I guess they’re just not currently advertising it in the website because it’s out of season. I wonder if hand pump heady will be available outside at the beer garden. If not I’ll have to stop inside at the pub first and then meander outside.

Granted I've only been a half dozen times, and it's a fast changing world, but I've only ever seen can pours in the beer garden.

Last I'd checked, you couldn't get hand pumped heady outdoors.

They do both that time of year (garden and pub). I feel like dubdrop is correct in stating it's can pours only outdoors.

From the path you can easily access a lot of places... it just depends how much you want to ride/walk from where you are staying. Doc Ponds, Ranch Camp, Backyard, Bench, Idlewyld, Alchemist, etc are all in play.

Parking is not going to be an issue. Simply find a lot near where you wanna go and walk the rest of the way. Tons of parking options on that stretch that will let you "choose your own adventure."
