Looks like a GFWCIPA circa 2006. That sun does some funny shit when it dives into the ocean.

Just checked. It's raining/snowing/sleeting and icing at 31 degrees.. Maybe that last Foothills Frostbite will help!

Hear hear from another S.D. quaffer who likes the dark brews. No fear drinking a dark brew on a warm day at the beach but I would readily admit--if you want an inexpensive beach brew, Leine's Summer Shandy is pretty good on a hot day. If that isn't "upscale" enough for you, a dry/sour/fruity Berliner Weisse will do. Partial to Funkwerks Raspberry Provincial.

Just outstanding has some malt character. I think it was first brewed around 2006/2007 so you’re right about the date.

I dealt with the owners and loved that beer. We sold tons of it here and the Imperial IPA was well ahead of its time. Two pallets in two pallets out.. The Belgians never thrilled me at all...

Don't get me started on the mamajuana every bartender has stashed behind the bar. 'It's my own recipe!"... well, hell, I tick, gotta have a shot... "pisto de mamajuana"

Well, the trees here are all icy still. Luckily the power has stayed on. It is time for last that Foothills Frostbite! Looks like anywhere north of I-40 caught the weather. My dogs didn't want to go walking.

Amazing what a difference a few miles make, we were at 34 degrees at daybreak, Alexa said so. Amazing to think it’s be 60 this week.

    How about a nice doppelbock . . . with a bourbon chaser?

No question that season and weather play a role in beer drinking choices. In general, I have found that hot and dry weather call for light and thirst-quenching styles, while cold and damp, for rich, full bodied styles.

It is 32 degrees in the New York City metro area right now and I have a fire roaring in the fireplace, so a Founder's CBS sounds right just about now. The roastiness of the wood only adds to the overall pleasure. Sláinte!

Would be fantastic, Red Oak is only 10 minutes away. To be honest if I would have thought about it I’d have a small growler going right now.

We need more doppelbock in this world. BBA eisbock would be nice too.

NC beach in Jan is austere, wind laden and barren. Fishing is pretty nonexistent from the surf but a KBS after a long walk on the beach or a rye would be just about perfect.

Now if a little bonefishing where it is a tad warmer--a few Kaliks do the trick--the Bahamian version of Corona--but bring along a few Revision IPAs to relax with.
