    What beers are generally know by their initials?

    SNPA
    BBCS
    DL (I may be showing my age)
    GBS (RVA knows)
    KBS
    CBS

    If the initials are not enough:

    Sierra Nevada Pale Ale
    Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout
    (3 Floyds) Dark Lord
    (Hardywood) GingerBread Stout
    (Founders) KBS. Was it originally Kentucky Breakfast Stout?
    (Founders) Canadian Breakfast Stout

    Like every beer traded in Facebook groups (or should I say fb) and many in these forums, and when bourbon trading is allowed it's even worse. It's often impossible to keep up with.

    Anchorage ADWTD (A Deal With The Devil) is pretty memorable. Iconic even. Maybe Bottle Logic's BBT (Beer:Barrel:Time) as well.

    Tell me about it, as a Mod the stuff we have to decipher sometimes.

    Manchester’s « Cloudwater » while a good brewery have the bad habit to name their beers in the oddest of way.

    Duvel, Chouffe, Delirium: Clear enough.

    DDH XYZ whateveh? Just nah.

    And certain industries too. I still recall a conversation I had with a co-worker a loooong time ago.

    Me: What does xyz mean?
    Co-Worker: Just another TLA.
    Me (with a further confused look): What the heck is TLA?
    Co-worker: Three Letter Acronym.
    Me: LOL (Laughing out Loud).

    When you create a three letter acronym of TLA this is the ultimate in the 'art' of acronyming! :stuck_out_tongue:

    ...from my military days (and especially when writing official documents - whether OPs - operating procedures - or PRs - performance reports, or the dreaded 'death by PowerPoint' briefings (or any briefing), the expectancy was to spell out the acronym on first use followed by its initials...this was all done with the understanding that your target audience, while smart and intelligent (usually) may not be familiar with your specialty's or unit's jargon but would understand it further on...

    ...I would say the same logic applies to BeerAdvocate (BA) or any other communication platform used for whatever audience...never assume 'everyone' knows what you're referring to...especially when there are new people involved...unless your audience is already familiar with every abbreviation you use, it just makes sense to bring the new folks up to speed...

    Two of my favorite beers. I have around 20 Brooklyn and 10 Bourbon County on my basement floor now.
