I saw a couple of these on websites recently and a couple of days ago The Open Bottle posted that they will be selling one. Kind of a cool lead up to Christmas idea if anyone is interested. http://theopenbottle.com/store/?product=christmas-crate-advent-calendar I know the Whiskyexchange usually sells a bourbon/whisky advent calendar.
Lol, saw that yesterday for Bottles and Cans. https://www.dnainfo.com/chicago/201...vent-calendar-is-one-way-get-through-holidays If someone has done this before, let me know what type of stuff was in there.
Wow, Bottles and Cans is much cheaper than the Open Bottles interesting. I'd be curious as to how the beers match up.
I've been curious about this as well, as I saw Bottles & Cans' offer. I have a feeling it'd be neat to do, but the only problem is that I've got beer taking over all my storage areas, so I probably don't need a beer a day added to my collection over the next month-plus. I more likely need a beer a day (or more, actually) removed from my collection the rest of the year.
The Beer Cellar in Glen Ellyn is also doing one: http://www.beercellarchicago.com/collections/frontpage/products/2016-advent-calendar
Binnys has beer advent calendars from Germany. I don't know how much though. I saw that and wanted one, then had the same thought @croush did and passed.
Considering Bottles & Cans lets you break up anything in the store, this seems redundant to me. This seems like a good idea for someone just into craft beer who has NO IDEA what they want to try, but for shriveled livers like ours, it's better to just cherry pick the stuff you are interested in, at your own pace.
This was exactly my thought when I saw places offering these last year. Most of the offerings they are going to compile are most likely shelf beers that most of us have had. Not saying unworthy beers, by any means. Just think its more of a gift for someone getting into craft beer, or shipping to someone out of town as a gift.
Last year I did the "everything" option from Bottles & Cans and it gave me an opportunity to try many beers I wouldn't have otherwise purchased. Several of which I've tried again. Overall it was a good experience.
Little bump for anyone wondering the open bottle beer advent calendar so far had pretty awesome. Day 1: Zombie Dust Day 2: Commodore cinnamon raisin Day 3: Goose island winter ale Day 4: Citradelic Day 5: Even more Jesus

That's a pretty nice variety pack, thanks for posting. Some of those are worth trying, but not buying a whole 6 pack of to try. I'll have to sign up next year.
