Beer Advocates from DFW?

    Hey all,

    Was wondering how many BAs there are in here from the DFW area. Seems to me like a lot of the threads are very Austin/Houston/San Antonio-centric. Seems to me like DFW might be underrepresented and I think breweries up here are putting out quality products with the medals to prove it. I'm a homer for Texas beers and enjoy a lot of the atx, htown brews I can get up here but I gotta pull for my area too!

    You got here after the great purge this weekend (bunch of threads got locked/removed), but yeah there are plenty of us here - always running into each other at stores/bars etc.

    Cool, I live around the midcities area so I am pretty flexible when it comes to moving around the Metroplex.

    Definitely looking forward to Grapevine Craft Brewery to open. Curious to see what they'll put out.

    Thats definitely my go-to place for beer runs. A lot of people give me surprised looks when I tell them I get my craft brews from a Valero gas station. Either Halls or Central Market since CM has Martin House. Hopefully Halls will get MH brews soon.

    Calling lonestarbev into this, too. Hall's and Lonestar are the two best DFW stores, bar none.

    OP: DFW is still a growing community, but essentially everyone here is really authentic and worth getting to know.

    Puddledynamics...are you one of the owners or workers from Halls? I had checked Martin Houses site and didnt see Halls as one of the places with their beer. But then again this was a few weeks ago.

    Jsboots21...thanks for the welcome. Id browsed the site for while but felt compelled to join recently. Glad to see theres a dfw community in here.

    Fern (aka puddledynamics) is the "beer guy" at Halls....and they got Martin House in last week - fyi.

    We all hang out/run into each other along the way. We have been trying to do bottle shares about once a month now, so be on the look out for threads relating to that.

    As hinted, there were some more threads about DFW area beers, but we have to make our threads more specific to avoid clutter and locking, as mentioned above.

    Meddlesome Moth is untapping St Arnold DR13 at 5pm. If you are here late enough on Saturday I'd recommend a brew tour in Peticolas, Deep Ellum, or Martin House.

    I'll go ahead and introduce myself here as well. Beer lurking for a while, just started posting. I'm a homebrewer who loves craft beer as well. Lonestar, S&K and Kegs and Barrels are my go to places recently. I just went to Las Colinas last week and they are pretty awesome too. I'm Ryan fyi! And yes that is me in my avatar, I play in a local punk band, Breaker Bar.
