I just came across this LA Times article: http://www.latimes.com/food/dailydish/la-dd-beer-doughnuts-20170614-story.html. I gotta say, I have definitely combined these in the past. I could see a maple doughnut pairing perfectly with a big Russian Imperial Stout. Has anyone experimented?
My wife is a baker (Create Bakery and Gifts, check her out on Facebook and Instagram). She does a ton of stuff with the local breweries in Sarasota FL. She's hoping to expand to St Pete and Tampa. She's been taking about pairing beer with baked goods for as long as I can remember. This article is on the nose, completely correct. The pairing options are endless.
As long as you don't try to combine the two into one thing, a la Rogue, I'm down. Can't remember the last time I ate a donut, though.
