Good call - Exactly what I go with. I am a 6 handicap and actually play better when I have a few. I feel as if golf courses today are (somewhat) getting in touch with the trend of offering better brews. There is a course outside of Philadelphia that offers Aprihop, Tremens etc. The course superintendent is into craft so he makes sure it is offered to the players to purchase as well. Am I opening a DL when its 90 degrees, no...But there are sessionable IPA's out there and its great to sip on Edmund Fitz in the fall to keep you warm.

Golf is the one time I usually make an exception and drink whatever BMC that's available. I played a round last weekend and went with a few silver bullets during my 18.

A round of golf is the perfect time for me to explore some of the 5% or under brews that I tend to overlook. 4 or 5 over 18 holes puts me in a comfortable spot, and I actually end up golfing a bit better sometimes because I quit over thinking things.

I don't golf. I once gave my grandma a black eye by accident as she was standing behind me when I was 'ball striking.' I was maybe ten but I thought I killed her. True story.

When you play golf you have to drink cheap water beer, because you don't want to be on your ass 3 holes in! hahaha. I'd go with a PBR

On occasion I will sneak some beers in--Sixpoint Resin works well because it doesn't even look like you are drinking a beer. Summer Shandy always hits the spot on a hot day!

Thanks to Head High, the one time I have drank on the course I had a 2012 KBS, 2012 Bourbon County, Speedway, Heady, and Hopslam. Needless to say it didn't end up well for me. Finished that day at a local bottle shop with a Westy 12, CCB humidor black, Imp. Biscotti Break and Sucaba. Wife found me at the mexican restaurant next door sitting in the waiting room with a to go box of french fires, rice and quesadillas a few hours later.

There is a course by me that doesn't sell alcohol, and they don't mind if take a cooler with, its a great time. I've been swigging lots of Two Brothers Sidekick out there, and some BMC

Yeah... skip that for me. I never claimed to be any kind of pro (if i shoot double digits it's a good day) but I stick to water or Gatorade on course. I'll save the drinking for the 19th hole.

Depends on how I've started my round. If gone to shit, a couple shots of whiskey and Pale Ales, accompanied by a decent sized doobie usually does the trick.

At least you were playing golf and able to burn some of those 1800 calories! Personally I'm too competitive to drink while playing golf

I like beer and I like golf but not at the same time. If I am to enjoy both on the same day I will play golf first and then enjoy the beer. The beer can make a bad round tolerable or a good round even more enjoyable.

It was a scramble, those are usually a drinking even with a little golf mixed in.

I'm thinking that the All Day IPA cans will be my go to golf beer.

I'm way too competitive to drink that much playing golf. In fact, the less I drink while playing is usually better - that usually means I'm actually competiting with someone. Scrambles with a few low ABV beers are always fun too, that has its place. Beer after a round is much, much better if you've not had any during the round and therefore have kicked someone's ass around the course all day.

Even though I'm competitive as they get, I tried having a few Heady Topper's during a member guest last year that is a glorified hit and giggle drink-fest for most of the players....those Headys hit me HARD. I just can't do that on the course.

I'm a single digit handicapper and I don't play golf without two things:
    Beer
    Gambling

Last Saturday I had a Third Coast Ale, a FIS, a Racer 5 and split a '13 Parabola, all before 8:30...still shot 78.
