I have a 2014 Stone Russian Stout I put in the fridge, but after second thought want to keep longer and age. Is it too late to pull it out? If I do will it lose taste or ruin it? Guess I remember the high school take of beer getting skunked by going cold to hot. Silly question I know. Thanks for the help.

you can age the stout in the fridge. It'll slow down the aging, but it will still age and in what might be a better temperature controlled environment. Taking the beer out and letting it age in a cellar wont ruin or make it lose taste either. Constant heat or sunlight would definitely kill it.

Not a stupid question, asked here often. And no, as jager said, no problem with pulling it out of the fridge and throwing it in the cellar.

“Guess I remember the high school take of beer getting skunked by going cold to hot.” That is an untrue statement.

Feel free to take your Stout out of the refrigerator and place it in your cellar for aging/cellaring.

    Cheers!
