I was just wondering if anyone had any recommendations for beer apps for iPhone. I'm using Pintley right now, but it doesn't update new beers and doesn't have a cellar feature. Thanks.

Untappd and Brew Gene are the ones I use. Untappd is my favorite.

I love Untappd, it serves a great alternate purpose to BA for statistic nerds. Now I know exactly what beers I drink most often! The unfortunate thing is knowing exactly how many beers I drink too...

Starmarvelo was curious to know what you meant by "it doesn't update new beers." And by cellar feature you want something that merely helps you keep track of what you've tried, correct?

Untappd. allows me to keep tabs of my beers, get quick reviews/notes about a beer, and track my friends to see what they're drinking and where.

I like Untappd. One thing I wish this app did though - provided updated tap lists from the bars. You can sort of figure it out from check ins, but if they were able to let bars upload their latest tap lists, it would be indispensable. I'm guessing that could be too much work for Untappd to collect or the bar to upload every day though. But, still....Say I'm in San Francisco and I want to find a bar currently serving Pliny near my hotel - If I reliably could use Untappd for that, that would be awesome. (Would also be cool if it integrated BA and/or RateBeer ratings on there too, but that's another thing on the wishlist.)

    BeerBuddy, Links to RateBeer's ratings.

I'll continue to use it, and plug it (not affiliated in the least) until BA gets their act together and releases one. I don't even use RB.

    Untappd. It's cross platform.

For a fun app for anyone who lives in Michigan, try Michigan Micro Caps. It is a game, but it also serves as a directory of all Michigan breweries.

Also, as everyone else has said, Untappd. Currently addicted. Super fun to look back at what beers you have had, where you were, pictures associated with the beer. I had a blast checking into beers in all sorts of locations while on a road trip these past couple of weeks. Seeing what others are drinking near you has also proved extremely useful - I can always see where I might want to go out and get a pint.

I think this simply means they never update the beer database with new beers. It's missing enough beers that i simply don't bother with it anymore. Cellar feature is probably a list of beers your holding but have not necessarily tried yet like the "gots" on here.

Correct and correct. It took forever to get Left Hand Nitro added. SA Pumpkinator and Rumpkin still hasn't been added. As far as the cellar goes, Apple has very wonderful wine cellar apps, but I want one for beer. Not what I've had, what I'm aging, bottling date, ABV, etc. There was a free app for that briefly, but I can't find it anymore.

Brew Vault is a nice cellar app.
