Saint Arnold posted that their next player in their Bourbon Barrel aged series (Bishops Barrel 9) was going to be their root beer aged in bourbon barrels with vanilla bean added. Shame... sounded delicious

 

Smuttynose just posted on FB for their newest product, Smudding. Chocolate Pudding cups made with Baltic Porter. I would totally buy some were it real.

BREAKING NEWS - Sam Calagione quits Dogfish Head Brewery to become Junior Brewer at Mitten Brewing Co!

The Mitten is excited to announce the hiring of new Junior Brewer Sam Calagione. Calagione most recently served as President of little known Delaware-based Dogfish Head Brewery.

“Never heard of it,” said Mitten Brewhouse Manager Jason Warnes.

Calagione was enthusiastic about the new position. “It’s been really cool so far,” said Calagione, 45. “Just yesterday, Wob let me help with the “mash” - Am I saying that right? Mash? Well, whatever you call the thing where you mix the grain and the water. Anyway, I’m just really excited to be a part of the team and I’m learning a lot. Get this - even though I’ve only been here a few days, (Mitten brewer) Alex Atkin already made me head keg washer!”

In addition to his role as Junior Brewer, Calagione will also serve as Assistant to the Regional Brewing Manager.

“That’s Assistant Regional Brewing Manager,” Calagione corrected.

 

Beer Temple in Chicago posted that they had a bottle of Rare for sale. And when some posters called it out as being an April Fool's joke with an empty box, they responded by posting a pic of the bottle itself in hand.

Which... I guess I don't understand the humor in that kind of "joke". Unsurprisingly, some especially entitled commenters got super pissed about it because people treat beer as Serious Business these days, but I guess I'm not sure what I'm supposed to laugh at.

I guess if the joke is to poke fun at the people who flip out when they find out it's not real, maybe I get it. I don't find those peoples' childish reactions funny either.

Really, it's just a holiday I've never understood, unless you're doing something goofy like Google Pac-Maps. The whole deception side just doesn't make sense to me.

I only figured it out when two farm breweries I know well started trading shots on FaceBook this morning.

But that bag in a box...I was reading about using polypins to simulate cask ale...I don't think this package is too far fetched either!
