Beer Bar & Beer Shop Finds (2023)

Not the biggest deal since Bissell is on tap everywhere. But I haven’t seen Precept yet in MA.

Precept is on tap at Long Cross, and it’s tasting fantastic.

 

I picked up some cans at Just Better Beer in Norfolk right before Xmas

 

Heading to Armsby Abbey for the first time on Saturday. Does anyone know if they do growler fills?

Just found out Jester King is hitting NH distro next week. Looking forward to having them on the regular.

 

I was very surprised to see a huge selection of Jester King in Burlington, VT when I visited a couple weeks ago.

 

Well … this is something. I’ll be honest. I’ve had mind-blowing stuff from JK including something at Slab a few weeks back (forget the name). I’ve also had forgettable stuff.

I’ll happily buy some farmhouse ales from JK. Hopefully the prices aren’t wack.

 

I’ve enjoyed most, but if we only got Petit Prince and Noble King I’d be happy lol.

 

Fidens at Nasty Nonni's. 2 cans per on a Double IPA. Have heard a fair amount about them, excited to try.

 

Bourbon County Sir Isaac, Coffee, Biscotti, regular, and 30th at both Kappys Medford and Atlas Liquors.

Atlas also had one six pack left of Ruination. Only place I’ve seen it.

 

Still bummed the reserve BW didn't make it here. I don't think it's a stretch to say the 4 packs of BCBW were one of the best beers they've made, and by all accounts this special version is even better.

 

Two drops in MA within 2-3 weeks. Pricey but absolutely delicious. Easily on par with the best hazy IPAs. Anyone know if these drops will continue?

 

Not sure about that. It was worth the try and do agree this is good stuff but hard to digest that price when Tree House is a half hour away.

 

Agree, but I enjoyed an excellent representation of a NEIPA without the bubblegum taste many attributes to the style.

 

I've found Fidens to be a bit sweet, but pretty awesome if in the mood for that. Not better than TH as many on fb contend, but a worthy alternative for sure.

Fwiw, this is at least the third time it's come to Boston - there was a drop in September at FPM and CBC, another drop at FPM sometime over the winter, and now this one at multiple stores and a Lulu's tap takeover. So hopefully that is going to continue.

 

My local got some of a German mixed 12 pack which I ended up picking up. It's 12 beers and breweries I've never heard of so it's pretty neat to try. I think these beers were a part of the Costco advent. Think all have been best by March 2024 and the Helles I had last night was pretty good, despite its ratings on this very site.
