I will be in Butte from the 4th to the 7th of July. Are there any places worth checking out?

Well, for breweries there's Quarry Brewing. For eating, ask about the Pork Chop sandwich, and get some pastys at Joe's Pastys (they were featured on Man vs. Food). If you want to drive up and over to Philipsburg (maybe 45 minutes), Philipsburg Brewing Co. is great! Otherwise it will be hunt and peck for bottles and craft beer in bars. Prob your best bet is Metals Sports Bar and Grill (sports bar in an old bank with 20 tap handles).

Butte is the friendliest town in the world. 10 minutes in a bar there and if you're not opened up to the locals YOU have a problem.

Muddy Creek Brewing on Galena St. should be open/opening by then too.

As Ryan noted, Butte's not much of a craft beer bar town (at least at this point). But more in line with what it does have to offer, check out the M&M and have a beer in a Butte, America institution.

    * non beer plug - check out the World Mining Museum is great if you have the chance and are into history.

I will likely be bringing some MN stuff with me if anyone is open to getting together on the Monday after the 4th.

Metals has 16 craft taps. I reccomend blackfoot ipa.
Front street market has a decent beer selection. Great Italian food store.
Hennessey market has a good selection.
Check dates Butte isn't necessarily a craft beer town.
I you like spirits I hear good things about head frame.
And you have to get a pasty at joes as noted earlier. You can't leave without getting a pasty.
Someone also noted m and m earlier, I would skip that it's going through a rough time right now
