Name says it all. I’m never in this part of the city and I’m meeting friends at this stop to take the L over to Brooklyn for a show. We want to grab some drinks before jumping on the subway. They all work on the east side and want to find a good bar as close to the subway as possible.

Any good bars in this area? Coopers isnt too far off, not sure if they want to go further south than the stop.

Proletariat, Good Beer and Augurs Well are all closer than Cooper’s, I think. There’s another place closer to 14th called Drop Off Service that’s cool.

In BK at Graham Ave, Beer Street is not far from the L train.

I definitely want to do Proletariat as their tap list is really good right now. However they dont serve food and I think they are looking for food. Hopefully they decide to eat prior.

Milk and Hops Astor Place is another option close to your original inquiry and they have a limited food menu.... sandwiches and charcuterie and such.

I am a big fan of Augers well. (they instagrammed their current tap list last night) Very small food menu and tables but the burger and sliders were truly very good.

If you’re not interested in eating than Good Beer all the way. Always a top notch tap list and always the newest cans/bottles in the city. Quick 3 minute walk south from the L.
