I just got done reading The Brewer's Tale: A History of the World According to Beer and loved it

 

Might have to check that out, man. Thanks! Like I said, most beer books seem to fall into one of two camps: fairly comprehensive reference books you pick up every now and again to browse while enjoying a beer, or dry, somewhat unfocussed narratives with brief forays into styles, classifications, etc.

Although it is becoming dated, the all-time classic remains Michael Jackson's (no, not the singer) "The Great Beer Guide: 500 Classic Brews"

 

Beer for Dummies.

 

I just finished this last nite http://www.amazon.com/The-Perfect-Keg-Scything-Best-Ever/dp/1771000082. I found it a pretty good read. The basic premise is the guy wants to make a beer sourced from everything that he grew on his own. Barley, Hops, and a yeast strain that he had hanging around for a sourdough starter that was several years old.

 

Anyone have a book or two that you'd recommend regarding the craft beer industry? or even the beer industry as a whole? I have two of Garrett Oliver's books (OED's Companion, and Brewmaster's Table) and a book on Guinness, but was looking for others. Thanks!

 

I got Brewed Awakening for Xmas last year. Definitely worth a look imo
