Saw this article today and was really intrigued. Interesting combination of baseball and beer and I would love to get a can of the beer. If anybody gets a can then I would love to read your reviews. http://wapc.mlb.com/cutfour/2014/05...d-a-beer-thats-aged-with-actual-baseball-bats The beer also supports a great cause.
In before "Why didn't DFH think of this first???" Well its a cool idea, and like you said, supports a good cause.
That article confused me a little bit as I've seen this in stores from Left Hand: http://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/418/96568/ Seems it was a group thing.
Even if the beer sucks, I'll have to pick some to support the cause. Had and have family members in the military.
You might be on to something. I could see Memorabilia-aged beer could become a thing. ISO: 4x Hoppy Big Papi ; FT: 1x Mike Trout Stout
I have had these before. Nothing all that special compared to other wood aged beers. By the way these are virgin bats without sealant obviously.
Soooooo wood, carved in the shape of a bat, removing the excess wood from the original piece of wood to make it bat shaped. Definitely ISO bat wood beer!!!!
Saint Arnold is one of the 11 breweries..I'm going to support it for sure. What I would like to see though is all 11 breweries playing a baseball game with those bats after the brews are complete. I'd pay for that as well.
Chris is doing great stuff here teaming up with the Flying Squirrels and the community. Was glad to see this on MLB today.
