One of the things I really miss about England is that when cycling along canal paths there were many great pub stops that served great quality cask ales. It is so rewarding to bask in the sunshine with a beautiful pint after a long hard cycle, or if you are like me, continue to the next one and make a day of it. I am keen to hear if this is a past-time for anyone here in the USA and what cycle paths you use (am thinking away from the urban landscape). If anyone knows any good cycle/pub routes in the Bay Area I will be glad to hear about it. I did the Iron Horse Trail in Walnut Creek recently and luckily found a pub with 3 cask ales on tap! I was over the moon. Funny that the pub was owned by a Brit....
Did you mean for this to be in the Pacific forum? Regardless, here's a weekend sherpa entry on this: http://www.weekendsherpa.com/issues/bay-area-bike-rides-and-breweries-mount-tam-marin/
