I tried the "Cigar City Yonder bock tropical maibock" last night and loved it but didn't think it was super "tropically" in aromas or flavor. Tonight I'm drinking the "Oskar Blues CANfusion Rye bock" and oddly enough the first aroma that can to mind was pineapple and mango....almost to an overwhelming degree, my wife say it taste like "fruit cocktail beer" and I love it and its taste great but could these two have been switched somehow in the canning line?? Wish I had another "Yonder Bock" to see if it the rye was more noticeable.... any thoughts?

I recently had both. And I thought the Oscar blues beer was very hop forward, spicy and reminiscent of a dry hopped rye ipa, although is a bock. Oscar blues beer one of the best new beers I've tried in a long time.

The more I read about the Beer Camp pack, the more I feel like I need to track it down.

I had the CANfusion Rye Bock on tap and it had none of the tropical scents you describe. I am curious if anyone else feels there was a mixup on the canning line.... Seems so unlikely though doesn't it?

I had both back to back tonight and got a rotten papaya flavor from the cigar city and a slight fusel and fruit flavor from the Oscar Blues. Didn't like either...

I thought the tropical maibock was amazing. Mango, guava and papaya in the nose out the wazoo

I picked up the Beer Camp case at Costco a few day ago, and just yesterday tried the 2 bocks back to back. I gotta say, they were spot on as advertised. The rye bock had a nice spicy, peppery zing, and the maibock was truly killer - very fruit forward smell and taste. I was thinking that it must have been brewed with fruit, but it isn't; just a very well chosen hop bill crafted masterfully.

Have the box and will be trying them both soon. Going to try pairing all the beers with food to enjoy and enhance the experience...up first this evening...the maibock with king crab and shrimp on the Barbie!
