Beer carpooling

Sooooo, my experience here is limited, but because I spend 8ish hours a week at the gym, I seem to peruse most of the GL and MW forums. I'll give you my experience from there.

Whenever a big release comes - think TG lottery, Black Friday, perhaps a big SP release - you'll see a post come up asking about carpooling. It's usually something like, "Hey everyone. Looking to go to XYZ, and I was hoping a few others might be going and looking to carpool. Happy to pay for gas, split the cost of a room, etc." The gas thing is most common, as some of these are Day-long trips, not overnight, but with TG trips it is often "we have room for 2 more at our airBnB booked for the weekend." Or something along those lines. Similarly, sometimes people will post looking for a place to crash for one or more nights before/during an event like that in the forum.

Sometimes these are brand new threads; other times they are simply a post inside of a major thread.

Outside of specific releases I am not sure that I have seen more than maybe 1 or 2 posts for carpooling. Of course, most of the MW (which includes the Great Lakes areas) is extremely spread out, with there being not much difference in distro between one town and the next that is only 2+ hours away. The only difference is getting to places like Chicago, but I think for normal trips (not based around a release) this comes up less in the MW because people often go to these big cities a few times a year. Thus, this is usually release based.

I can see this being dramatically different in CA, New England, and Florida, where on any given week people would love to travel to pick up a case or 2 of beer(s) for the next monthish - or even for a nice day out. There are just more attractive opportunities there.

Im in cali and would OC area and would totally be interested not to save vosts on gas, but so i dont have to sit in traffic for 4 hours going to and from LA. example monkish had a release today at 4 pm. traffic back from LA to OC after 4 is more than 2 hours!

 

have not with people from BA but have a few friends while not big traders like beer alot and have gone to say Treehouse with 4 people sometimes wives which lets us get extra of rarer stuff always better than alone.
