I have a three-tier beer cellar, or shelf really, that is sitting next to a sliding glass door. It's not too bright by the shelves, but i worry, I cannot find anywhere else for it.

Should I try harder in finding a new spot for this or is it ok being in the light?

The shelf by the window will be fine.

The beer you "cellar" on it? Ahh....

Try to get it someplace shaded, at least. I had beers out (due to necessity) in a partially sun-light room, and have definitely noticed subtle off-flavors. Depends on the beer, of course. At the very least, pick up some empty cases w/ lids still attached and fill those with your bottles before shelving. Light should be your first concern, then temperature (but really only if your house either gets above 90 degrees or below 10 degrees for long periods of time.)

You can get a sun-burned on a foggy day.
