Thought I would post my experiences here for anyone who might be interested. I finally decided to purchase a full side beer fridge. Went with a Kenmore 16.7 cu freezerless refrigerator. Total cost ~$550.

Had it about two weeks now and I have the temp dialed in pretty well thanks to a fancy dual channel digital thermometer I use for grilling. I did not install an aftermarket temperature control unit.

Bottom shelf is incredibly stable at 46-47. Top shelf is good, but not quite as stable. Ranges from 46-51.

The main reason I choose a freezerless fridge over a full size freezer, was I was scared that at some point the control system could go haywire and freeze my entire cellar. Freezers seem to run about $100 less, but that is before buying the temp control unit.

I may attempt to get the overall temps up 1-2 degrees, but I'm happy where its at. I would recommend this fridge to another BA'er, so far... Kenmore model# 70722

Finally, and perhaps most importantly, learn from my mistakes. Make sure you have enough beer upon buying your fridge, that there is no room for your wife to start adding sodas.

How's this treated you? I'm about to purchase the same model here in Maryland.
