This disabled veteran would like to get his beer back. Thank you for reading.
This is so fucked and unfortunately very common in storage units. With this and the earthquake incident with another BA i am now keeping my beers under -80 or so
More so as of late, at least locally. Many factors as to why these thefts are happening, though a conversation regarding why would be out of scope for BA. Dang, sorry to hear about Hoppedelic and his earthquake incident. We will be doing the same reagrding reducing the size of the cellar to nonexistent (sadly). The current household does not have a place for a wine/beer cellar (yet), and there are other improvement projects that take priority.
Very sorry to hear this, and hope you can recover some if not all. Based on the phrasing, did they take everything from the storage unit or were they selective (left some beer besides what’s listed)? I’m assuming they grabbed everything and you listed specifics like you did to potentially identify some of the lowest bottle count items, but it made me question if somebody took the time to pick through it over that timeframe, which would be extra bizarre. I assume the storage facility security footage was no help.
They did not take everything, in fact. This is good & bad, as they left some mind blowing good ones but took common BCBS, but a significant portion of Firestone Walker Brewers intent releases - but left the box that had the Utopias it it. Left the Lost Abbey Sinners barrel aged & Duck Duck gose... it is just weird. They did take some time digging through it all, I could tell due to the boxes being moved around and not in the order I had them in but I suspect they did not know what they were taking. I am still waiting for the local LEOs to take the next steps in the investigation. :/ Supposedly they pulled the footage, but I have not seen it and they are working on other things. At least they had footage at the entrance of the facility, but not down the hallways. I should do an update post, detailing what support I have received from each of the breweries involved. Getting the insurance claim done was a challenge - and a story to be told.
