I'm trying to get my cellar a bit more presentable, but having trouble finding a shelving system to do so. Currently it's in cardboard boxes that are stacked 3 and 4 high in some areas. I'd like to get it onto a shelf so it's a bit more organized and more presentable. Unfortunately, the space I'd like to put it in has an angle ceiling above it, so the shelving would be limited to 52" (so I can attach it to the wall). I've looked at Ikea Kallax units and worried that each cubby is limited to 29 pounds. Beer bottles are 3-3.25 pounds each, so that's really about 8-9 bottles per cubby even though there's room for 12-15 bottles. I've also looked at ClosetMaid but their cubbies only hold 20 pounds each. A friend of mine has the Kallax units (the 4x4 ones) and hasn't had any issues yet, though I don't think he's had them long enough to notice any issues potentially. Surely someone out there has done something similar? I'd love to have a basement space and just use some metal shelving but unfortunately no basement in the house.
How about: https://m.lowes.com/pd/edsal-72-in-...Tier-Steel-Freestanding-Shelving-Unit/1000527 You can set the shelf up with 3 tiers on one side and 2 on another to meet your height requirements
I have a few of these from Home Depot. Cheap, sturdy and each shelf holds 200 lbs. http://www.homedepot.com/p/HDX-36-i...ilated-Storage-Shelving-Unit-128974/100006678
If you're good with wood working I would suggest you build yourself one instead of buying particle board from a store to put together. If you're not good with wood working I would find a friend or someone who knows how to build you some shelves.
I would buy the 6 Shelf Adjustable Racks you can find just about anywhere like Homedepot or Lowes.... Holds around 600 Lbs of Stuff Easily Adjusted..Plenty of Air Flow..some even come with Shelf Liners if Your Not Doing Cases. They even have corner Units. With the Cost of Matterials these days, cheaper to buy than using wood to build
