Recently, I had a cocktail which consisted of:
    -Evan Williams Honey
    -Bell's Two-Hearted
    -An organic honey comb
    -slice of orange
I was impressed but I could probably do better.

Anyways, what crazy brewcocktails (easy now... mind out of the gutter) have you guys thought of/tried?

The PDT Cocktail Book has a recipe for a cocktail they call the Brooklyn Flip:

I did something similar to that one, I call it the Death Cookie.
    2oz Darkhorse Too Cream Stout
    1oz Bulleit Bourbon
    .5oz Demerara Syrup
    1 Whole Egg
Dry Shake then shake with ice, strain into coup, enjoy.

One of my favorites is at Nightwood restaurant in Chicago... The Trifecta. Old Rasputin topped off with a shot of espresso & a shot of Jameson. A better brunch drink I cannot find.

Also, Breakside Brewing in Portland is doing some interesting stuff mixing some of thier beers wth flavored syrups. My wife is not a beer drinker, but enjoyed some of their concoctions.

Southern Tier Creme Brulee with framboise is pretty great. Also "Wake n Moo". It is Terrapin Wake n Bake mixed with Terrapin Moo Hoo. I look forward to it every year.

Update #1. Stone IPA (in a taster glass) with a few shakes of orange bitters... didn't work. I was thinking that the citrusy/floral/hoppy bitterness of an IPA would pair well with the elements bitters brings to a drink. and "pairs" is the operative word here--I think they play well together but don't mix well. Now I'm thinking the citrusy/sweet bitter elements of a bitter would work better in a roasty stout or porter? hm. Further investigation is needed!

If me and hard alcohol mixed well I would love to try a beer cocktail...but instead hard stuff makes hulk angry.

I am a purist in every sense of the word but this just sounds good!! Poured in a Pint glass? High ball? I am assuming no shaking. I am trying to find this online.

    Cheers!

I haven't been to Nightwood since I moved away from Chicago in July 2010, so I'm not even positive it's on the menu anymore. When I last had it it was poured into an Old Rasputin nonic pint glass. I believe they pour the shots of Jameson & espresso in first, then top it off with the beer. And yeah, definitely not shaken (no ice either).

    11 oz old winter warmer
    1 drop of orange bitters
    1 tspn whiskey

The winter warmer was a 2 year old bottle from Upland, and was not drinking well on its own. I had no problem finishing off the glass after adding the bitters and whiskey.

Always crazy about the Hammer Smashed Face, which was invented on a crazy night out :

    2 oz Vodka
    a dash of tabasco
    a splash of lime
    topped with cheap lager

    GROG, GROG....

In a small bar in Pittsburgh, I had this:
All equal amounts, filling up a regular draft glass to about 1/8" of the top of the glass
    Triple Sec
    Biacardi 151
    Smirnoff Vodka
    Gin
    1800 Tequila
    Bourbon
    Scotch
The top 1/8" was topped off with whatever beer you wanted from the draft. The drink cost $12, but after 3, you were fubar.

A cousin of mine once made Corona drinkable by requesting that the bartender pour out the beer in the neck (approx 1-2 oz.) and replacing it with Bacardi Limon and lime juice (approx. 3-1 ratio of Limon to lime juice). Not a cocktail, per se...

Someone on this site once recommended adding a little St Germaine and Limoncello to a Saison...it turned out damn good. I later tried it without the Lemoncello and actually liked it better

I just had a really good one at The Crop in Stowe, vt.
    Heady Topper
    Hop infused vodka
    Orange bitters

....And it came with a sidecar of the remaining heady topper in the can!!

I often mix beers and occasionally throw some spirits in there too. I've done good things with stouts and whiskeys. I love LH Milk Stout Nitro with a shot of Cabin Fever Maple Whiskey.

Have not experimented much but have been thinking about it. I have tried a shot of Patron coffee with victory at sea. Meh...will probably use an average porter/stout next time. An IPA with some Bombay Sapphire also comes to mind. Thinking the grapefruit/citrus/hoppy flavors will mix nicely. We will see.

    Salud!
